All true. But what's missing from your analysis is what caused so many worthwhile people to leave.
I date the beginning of the exodus of knowledgeable posters away from this site to roughly three years ago, when "Desert Rangers" and the other lunatic whose moniker is synonymous with "unattractive canine" started bombing the messageboard with endless racist, religious and xenophobic garbage. Apparently encouraged by their example that "anything goes" and in the absence of any moderators or other involvement by Oli to limit the off-topic stuff, last year saw the influx of a few people who decided that the messageboard was the perfect place to hold endless conversations about American politics. That drove even more of the people who wanted to discuss dogs away. There were also blanket attacks against Muslims, Chinese, African-Americans and a few other groups as well.
Lately some of us have begun pushing back against the endless tide of political, religious and racial nonsense generated by just a few posters who are only here to inflame others, by invoking the policy of "Don't feed the trolls" ("DFTT"), and also by pointing out abusive posts via the reporting function installed last year by Oli. This has earned some dividends in the form of several purges by Oli of the political and religious nonsense - obviously some of it still appears, but not nearly to the degree it was happening six months ago. Although Oli's reticence to altogether ban some of the worst offenders handicaps our effort somewhat, it seems we are starting to succeed in taking the messageboard back from the trolls and the idiots.
To bring my post full circle, beetree is one of those who have "pushed back" against the people who contribute nothing about dogs and are only here to detract from the purpose of this board - which is why she gave Agar a hard time for posting on the political thread. So odd as it may seem, notwithstanding their current hostilities, she and Agar both want the same thing for this site.

This site was a wealth of knowledge for me over the years, and I learned so much, found great mentors, and knowledgeable, helpful people.
Too bad real names aren't required for usernames, bet you'd see a lot less BS if everyone had to be accountable for everything they say.

Ah yes...people like EchoMeadows, who managed to continually hijack the site with whatever Drama of the Week she concocted.
But even then, at least the discussion was dog-related for the most part - and I'd still rather have to sort through that sort of stuff to find the worthy topics than all the political hogwash.

On another note, why have you named yourself after a dog that belonged to the late Joe Kuhn
No baffoon on Phil. and I don't care about the name but just to bring some GSD info (no pits) For those of you who knew Joe Kuhn he did have Agar z Pohranicni straze and I purchased the dog from Joe just before he died. I did manage to get frozen semen from Agar z Pohranicni straze. Agar was one of the last true border dogs (also a son of Gomo von Schiefferschloss) before Czechoslovakia split.
Joe had quite a collection of amazing hard dogs. I remember several by Mink, Lord, oh the list! Wish he were still around. I miss the conversations.
I purchased another dog from Joe, Eika Kuhnhoff. I have three females out of an Eika x Agar daughter. All nice and very worthy.
See, no pits!

I don't know Joe, rest his soul, and I don't have any personal interest in Agar z P regardless of who owned, owns or has frozen seman on him. I never CLAIMED to be associated with any of these people or this amazing dog so as far as I'm concerned there's nothing to further explain.
If my screen name "offended" certain people....I don't know what to tell ya I'm not gonna change it because you feel it is disrespecting a dead man and a dead dog. Sorry but it's a little ludacrous to me.
And Phil this is probably the 3rd time in 3yrs you have chimed in on a thread that was not directed towards you and you want to start some shit over my screen name....give it a rest already cause YOU'RE the one that is making yourself look like a baby! I don't know you, don't care to know you and the impression you've left with me is less than "tasteful". If you've got some chip on your shoulder over me I suggest you just deal with your own issue and leave me alone.

By the way OoooH LA LA on the Playboy offer's..(Really who gives a SHIT!!!) You, I guess dying to be the center of attention since your post didn't get it. Why even HATE on the pitbull thread? Obviously there were more people with knowledge about that post than yours. Is there something wrong with that? Shouldn't be, dog's are dog's.
Anyway go away, stay, lurk or whatever you do but don't hate when you come to this shitty site to still gather information and get some to boot. How fked up of a site is it really? Seems like the people that post negative posts like yours bring the whole site down. What positive did you have to contribute or did anyone gain by your post? I'll tell YOU NADA!!! Only to let people know you don't really like pitbulls because they got more attention than the poor lil playboy bunny did.LMFAO Damn shame you think so highly of yourself when your no better than the people you talk about.
