Jenni78, my girls are not gaited though many think they are.  They walk out fast and secure, and very smoothly.    My last cutting horse was not near as smooth;   This is Miss Millie.

I prefer a pure bred Appaloosa spots and all, from working stock.

I have always known horse people can be just like dog people....lol

I could have a decent horse for free here, prices are down and costs are up, folks are hurting with the economy.
I don't have the pasture or a barn.

I do have some dogs, puppies too.
Any one of them would make a good search and rescue dog.

I hope you can find someone who has what you want,  and wants what you have.
We could all go back to barter and it wouldn't bother me a bit.

Moons.

Moons:
Ha, Ha.
According to the Appaloosa Horse Club she is s pure bred and is registered as such. She is more refined that the traditional Foundation Appaloosa.
Doesn't hurt my feelings if nobody wants to trade will probably get more if I sell her anyway.
Do you have a website where I could view your dogs?
Thanks for your wishes.
P.S. Love the Birds- they are beautiful.

Animules:
OMG!! She is way to cute.

Jenni -- I really like your horse -- beautiful and great color.  Two out of three "ain't bad."

The horse market is in the dumps right now and has been.  It's difficult to even give away good horses.  People are bringing horses to auction and getting killer price for them so they don't have to feed them over the winter.  Selling a horse with any kind of health issue - good luck.  I know it's frustrating, have three sound/healthy horses I'd like to sell - still have them because I don't want to trade or give them away.

Sunsilver

The stable I used to work at had a steel gray snowflake appaloosa named Lucky. You could not keep Lucky in a box stall, or you'd come in to find the boards from the front of the stall all over the floor the next morning. She'd do her best to demolish her standing stall, too. We kept a tire hanging behind her to help reduce the kicking, but she'd eventually demolish the wall in between her stall and the next by throwing her weight against it and kicking. She only kicked her stall, fortunately, never people.

She was an expensive horse to keep stabled. If she'd been somewhere warmer than Ontario, she could have been outside with a run-in shed for shelter from bad weather.

I remember her as being a nice horse to ride, and a pretty good jumper too, for her size. Very pretty as well, with the steel gray colour and the snowflakes on her behind!  Her head was quite dainty, and I often wondered if she had a dash of Arab blood in her.

 Jenni,

Your horse is beautiful! He really does look arabian and somewhat "stud-like". I like that look in a male horse.

Animules,

Many of my neighbors swear by their mules and the dependability they offer. I just never found them as appeasing to the eye as a good bred horse. However, I must admit, yours has a nice head without that roman nose or long from the eye to the nose that many seem to possess.

Moons,
I will try to get some pictures of my appaloosa this weekend and see if she qualifies in your book!
We use to show quarter horses and appaloosas in western pleasure. Did pretty good. Stood a superior in WP stud for many years-own son of Zippo Pine Bar. He was amazing.
You could not tell the difference between many of our solid apps and the quarter horses-same conformation.

CLC25-
We purchased a quarter horse many years ago that had issues with her hocks. It developed after they posted the ad for this fine show mare, so they dropped the price from 10,000 to 6,500. We took her home, kept her up, hand walked her through the initial onset, and they slowly worked her into fitness. We did get her injected, but just a couple of times. Never used her for jumping. She is now 25 years old and still sound. A neighbor uses her for the kids to ride around the farm.

Jenni
Your horse looks as though he could be a National Show Horse, beautiful. My sister has a couple of them,They have the look of an Arabian but the gait of the Saddlebred. A real pleasure to ride.

My Belgian mare,HoneyDew, was triple registered as of course, a Belgian, and a paint and an appaloosa. She has one BOLD black spot on her rear and a few faint black spots.
She is the 4 wheel drive of the trail rides. She don't look like a hunter-jumper but she sure will jump anything put in front of her.
