Crys, she doesn't appear to be blind.   I don't believe anyone would know just looking at her and how she moves.  She looks great.   Do you know how much she weighs?

I'd guess somewhere around fifty-five pounds...Maybe sixty.  She's not very heavy, but she has a pretty good sized frame, so I can tell you that she likely weighs between fifty five and sixty...

Big girl...I wish I had one of her and me together, not taken by me, so you could see her size by comparision...But I haven't got anyone to take pictures of me with her.

She is gorgeous Crys.  She looks like a dream moving along there, alert, proud.  She looks like a queen.  Love the snowblobs LOL.  Thanks for sharing.

We did our five mile walk last night...Oakley was being a butt head...Very unusual for her.  She was going every which way, trying to drag me into yards, wanting to stop at EVERY single rock, post, driveway corner, etc...Trying to go out in the road, just totally not being her usual self.  Didn't help that I was tired and not really up to that walk in the first place.

We made our walk, but neither of us found it all that satisfying, and I'm sure glad I had a leash on her!

On the other hand, maybe she was just living up to what I was told by lovely Mother in Law yesterday... "Any dog that stares into the air with its head cocked funny is retarded, and you know what they say...people buy dogs that are look like them and ARE like them" Emphasis mine.

I guess it's not just my Oakley that's retarded...It's me, too! MIL says so:-)

I watched a guy walk his dog past our house this morning...Every time the dog would try to pass him on leash, he'd hit it with the stick he was carrying...Heck of a way to teach a dog manners.  Maybe he should try some focus training?

Crys

Thanks for the kind words, all...Let me know in June, whether you folks think that Oakley is retarded...She sure doesn't seem like it to me.

I read on another list that Oakley and Misty have been lost while camping with CrysBuck.  I'm so sorry to hear this and am hoping for happy news of their safe return soon:

Oakley and her partner in crime, Misty are home safe and sound after a scary 40 hours or so wandering around in the wilderness.  They were found by a forest worker who saw the flier and brought them into a ranger station where they were reunited with a very distraught Crys.  Valuable lesson here folks...no matter how well you think you know your dog, you don't really know your dog.  Who would have thought a blind dog would go exploring on her own...but then, Oakley is special and fearless.  She won't get that opportunity again I'm sure!  Happy ending this time folks but we were sweating it out.
