Langhaar, I'm confused. What are you talking about in terms of grain? Who's advocating grain?

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks Solid Gold sucks. I would feed Costco food way before Solid Gold.

I sold a pup to a guy who fed Wellness puppy and he loved it. Had very good results on it w/many dogs.

Germlover, I am feeding wellness puppy large breed right now to my 7mo pup. He is doing very well on it ever since I got him at 8 weeks old. Yes, its pricey. But after all those food recall issues and companies switching formulas w/o telling, I found myself more trusting in wellness then anybody else. My adults get the wellness core, and even my allergy problem child does extremely well on the core fish one. Buy my food at Petco. They have a buy 10 get 1 free programm, and wellness is sending coupons in there company newsletter. They also garantee the food, no questions asked. I also found hat i am feeding less, the pup gets 4 cups a day, my girl 3 to 4, depending on training; and my allergy boy is maintaining on 2 cups a day. Did I mention gorgeous coat?

Yes, I think raw is always better.  But there is a dog food that is next to best and that's Blue Buffalo dog food.  It's all natural, no animal by-products, no artificial flavors, colors, or perservitives.  No corn, wheat or soy (which can cause allergies in dogs and cats)  They also have a wilderness formula that is 85% meat protein.  Your dog will look simply amazing inside and out!

Blue Buffalo is ok, but IMO, Wellness Core, Orijen, Canidae grain free, Evo, etc. are all better foods. I have given Blue Buffalo in a pinch when it was all I could find on vacation, but wouldn't use it again if I could help it. Seemed to cause more digestive issues and my dogs do NOT have sensitive stomachs.

Oh, and I guess I sold puppies to TWO people who feed Wellness puppy, LOL. I saw it on sale recently on K9Cuisine.com actually, if anyone's looking for it. Free shipping.
