I am enjoying this thread also. Thank you. She will reward you with lots of love and devotion. I had a firend that adopted a little girl. I was at thier home and the little girl (about 3 or 4 at the time) got into trouble and was told to go to her room. She came cryig out of her room and told her Mom, "You have to Love,me, no one else wants to". Just broke my heart.

Crys

I'm loving this diary!  Dying for more pics but I will be patient with you as I haven't figured out how to get mine to post so I can't cast stones.  She is adorable and since she is marked very much like my girl I find her quite attractive.  Bless you for taking her on.  She does indeed appear to be quite special and who knows what all she can accomplish under your tutelage!

Thanks to Steph for stepping up and getting Oakley to a safe haven.

Some days, this site makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Update:

Oakley is relaxing a little bit more now.  She's wanting to chew and do puppy things a bit more, and she's playing with Misty a lot when we're outside.  I messed up last night and gave her a little bit too much of the new food with her old food, and gave her diarrhea, but this morning it's better, and I mixed less new and more old.  The little thing can just squeeze between the pickets on my garden fence, so I have to watch her that she doesn't go in the garden and dig up my veggies:-)

I'm teaching her the command OFF, so that she knows not to jump up on people, or on the furniture.  I've never been a great fan of dogs on the furniture, so we're working on that.  We're also working a little on things like sit, and stay, but of course, it's a little more of a challenge because she can't see, and I have to keep putting her back into position.  Outside, she's my shadow.  She'll wander a little bit, but those ears are glued to me, and so is that nose.  I've noticed that she sometimes scents the air, and follows it to me that way, and sometimes she'll track on the ground.  Depends on the breeze, and what it's doing.

She is quite vocal, but her tone yesterday sounded a bit worried to me. Today, it's more direct, like it was that night I talked to Steph on the phone.  She lets me know when it's time to eat, and when she wants outside, and whines if I leave the room and she didn't know it.  I'm teaching my kids how to handle her when she jumps at them, or tries to nip hands and pant legs.  They're getting it, and so is Oakley, so no biggie there.

I do really like the food that Steph had her on, and I'll see if I can find it somewhere.  The Kirkland is good, but the Dick van Patten Sweet potato and Fish is really nice, too.

I've got some paperwork to do today, so I won't be able to be out as much, but tomorrow is another day!

Steph, you were right, the files are too big.  I don't know how to make the existing files smaller, so I'll just take future pics in 2MP, and hopefully, I won't have any more trouble with this.  I was taking the photos in the highest quality 6 MP I had on my camera, and apparently, they just won't upload.  Thanks, though, for posting pics for me!

That bandanna Steph put on Oakley is so cute, I haven't had the heart to take it off yet.  She's not scratching at it as much, so it's fine!

It's funny watching her and Misty outside playing.  Misty leads her around, like she's figured out that the pup's blind, but Oakley likes to nip at her side and tail as they go.  Then, Misty will turn around and push her with her front paws, and tip her over, then it starts again...It's a hoot to watch!  They'll also lay, front paws touching, face to face, and Misty will nip the toes on one paw, then the other, and Oakley will yap at her, and reciprocate.  Then they'll see who can move the paws first.  It's funny how they've gotten past the initial aggression that Misty was displaying, and have become friends.  I was right there, though, correcting inappropriate behavior from both, until the tension eased off, and it's like they've known each other their whole lives.  They even lay down and sleep right next to each other!

Would you look at the frame on that puppy!  Looks like she's gonna be a big girl!  I'm so happy that you are sharing her with us...Keep a good diary...maybe Disney will pay you for it some day.  I'd be a sucker for a movie about this girl and how she turns out.  You know she is special.

Here's a couple of cute ones...

This is her favorite spot...Easy going and behaves quite well (for the most part)

Sweet little pup...The kids love her, my husband loves her...I couldn't be any happier!  She may not have been the import puppy I thought I wanted, but she's the right one, of that I'm sure.

Really, she's not drugged...Really.

She just sleeps a lot when I'm on the computer.  She's very active if I'm walking around the house, and she's very busy with the kids.
