Kim, you have a good sense of humor. "Best know owner Larus" Excellent points. Some people don't know the rules. Isn't it any wonder? The VA classification has become a mass of confusion, because dogs are earning VA status in countries where there's little competition. As long as they get a VA they use it to promote the dog, although the dog essentially wouldn't earn a VA at the German Sieger Show.
The VA classification should include the country where the dog earned the rating. This tells the real story. In all respect for Karat Ulk, he definately deserved to get a VA, but the SV regulations requiring SV koerung on the immediate anscester/s prevented him from moving to his deserving position.

I am not too familiar with VA criteria but was wondering if anyone thinks that Atlas vom Wizards Hof will eventually VA? He seems to have been winning alot of V1's. Why, Why not.

And why should Orbit not be present. Last year in Karlsruhe he was just over 2 years and he had no progeny group then.
Now, this year is Heinz Scheerer the judge of the working class males. He's also the breeder of Orbit. BUT he is NOT the owner of Orbit.
The owner of Orbit is D. Scheerer.
Look at Larus last year: Herr Orschler judged the class --> Herr Herzing is the owner --> Larus is VA1
To end, I'm not saying that Orbit is competing this year because I don't know it. But the reasons that are mentioned would be not an obstacle to compete.
If Orbit can present a progeny group, he for me absolutely one of the candidates for VA1.
Other candidates for VA1 in my opinion are;
Erasmus v Noort
Zamp v Thermodos (if he passes bite work)
Quantum Arminius (great progeny)
Pakros d'Ulmental
Ando Altenbergerland
Karat's Yoker
By the females:
Kamilla Römerland
or
Uschka vom Osterbergerland

Hi Kurt
Orbits oldest progeny will be under 12 months and not eligible for the Sieger show this year, therefore he cannot present a progeny group (he couldnt do any breedings until 24 July 2004 at the earliest under SV rules).
**If the new VA qualifying rules are implemented from this years show, he could not retain his VA status so it would be highly unlikely he would be presented and demoted to V. If not implemented, then who knows, maybe Sieger or vice Sieger.

DOes anyone know the rules and what will be the regualtions for the VA staus?
This for sure would change the lineup fot the show this year.
I believe that Erasmus will make Sieger if all goes well and very much deserving. For the females probably Uschka if Winona is not shown.

And should we suspect that Alf should place even in the Vs? This is a midiocre dog with ugly gums and even more gums and perhaps a dental notation. Where will he place in the German Sieger Show? Please do not make this an example of quality United States breeding. I would hope that the German Judges do not patronize the American Breeders by placing a dog such as this with any credice. Spare us your politics and make examples of only quality dogs.

Spaetzle,I must say that most of us must agree with you when it comes to that dog.
He is very ugly and I can't imagine he would be in Germany this year.
As for Yak he is a beautiful animal and I think he will do very well.

I agree with both spaetzle and Nicos about Alf. Then, take a look at Alf on the DVD from the 2005 USA Sieger Show as you listen to the judge's critique. Very strange--I've never seen a GSD that looks like this.
