The e-collar on any age dog is not wrong just because of the dog’s age. For instance a puppy has a raging obsession with chasing cars. I’m talking about really losing his shit redirecting on anyone close by. Should the behavior be allowed to solidify into an obsessive behavior in a 2 year old dog and then try to correct the problem? Or should the behavior be extinguished while it is still relatively easy in a 12 week old dog? Personally I would do it with the puppy. How would you fix the problem?
I have also seen a few dogs that have been trained with the e-collar from puppyhood that worked out fine. In fact I am starting to believe that introducing the e-collar to young dogs (6 months?) might work out better in the long run and be fairer to the dog.

The pup is freezing because it doesn't understand what they want, and is scared to move! What total IDIOTS!!
Put the e-collar on the testicles of the trainer and give it a test drive.
Yes, and hand me the remote, please!!

If I had witnessed this I would do everything in my power to put an end to it Baja.
You might make some calls.

Although I've not trained a pup in this manner, I tend to agree with Christopher Smith.

Its electric shock and was once considered state of the art in the treatment of humans in mental institutions.
They can be useful no doubt, but I think they are used in the wrong way far too often.
