I can tell you  a little about Cider Vingar

What it does is to make a acid envioment, Like for instance the stomach, or in racing pigeons the crop, It is an aid in stopping salmonella, and staphylococus, chiamydiae

it helps balance the intestinal flora all in all a very good product which we use often

www.bragg.com  makes organic apple cider vinegar and then some

I also use Garlic for flea/tick prevention during summers.  However, it is the odorless kind, which I use as some dogs will not eat the regular flavor...  I  guess I will need to switch back to regular and crush every pill from now on to get the full spectrum of uses it can provide.

I only wish that I wouls have known about this a year and a half ago. My mom passed away from MRSA at the age of 50. On another hand.. I always put garlic in my dogs food. I have 3 boxers and 2 shepherds. They love the garlic.

Garlic, raw apple cider vinegar, raw organic honey, echinacea, collidial silver.....I swear by that stuff, they've worked better for me than any other medication I've ever used during colds, flus, infections, etc.   I found out about the raw apple cider vinegar by a women I once knew who used it to treat parvo in rescue puppies, and it worked!   I put it in my dog's water 3 times a week and they drink it fine.  Never have a problem with intestinal parasites or kennel cough.   Actually, one of my girls started to get a hoarse cough one day a few months ago, I immediately gave her a cup of raw liver of all the above ingredients, plus some other vitamins and minerals and put collidial silver in the drinking water (and thats all I fed her that day, nothing else) and the next day her cough was gone, nobody else got the cough.  In the past I have gone through kennel cough that lasts a whole month and the vet's antibiotics didn't work for nothin'

As for Staph infections, I wish I knew about this stuff 10 years ago, I had a horrible staph infection that put me in the hosptital for 5 days, ICU for 3 of them.  and then a pint of antibiotics administered daily by an IV for a month afterwards.  Miserable stuff.   It is NOT fun!

In many places in Europe they use only vinegar as a disinfectant, not  toxic chemicals.

It works well on cuts/abrasions and it will take away your sore throats or coughing in about 5 minutes. Its amazing.

But do get the organic. I cant stress that enough.

Glad to see Im not the only nutcasse here that believes in herbal remedies..

Can i add a bit of info as a medical professional here, as far as garlic goes it does cure only some forms of MRSA, it does not kill all. I sat in a seminar on hospital infections and there are studies, although the studies show some success it is not proven. As in MRSA it is not antibiotic resistant, it is just morphed into something we are unable to treat. I happen to like the idea of hollistic and organic ideas i would not be taking supplements. I am exposed to MRSA and other infections on a DAILY basis, and the #1 way to KILL this is Proper Handwashing.

fireguy i come from a family of medical experts. Some of them being top 3 in the world. Allicin found in garlic does kill MRSA. All forms, but you need stabilized allicin to do tat.

Ugly Dog

I have given Cider Vinagar to the racing pigeons for as many years as i can remember, in fact they had it in the drinking water yesterday and again for  today,

One day each time in the summer when they drink more water

twice for two days in the winter when they drink less water but changed daily, Crush a clove of Garlic and drop in the drinker along with the Cider

Any pigeon fanciers out there it will bring on the moult of the down in Jan -feb it will fall like snow flakes and if you do not get a down moult you will fail that year in performances, plus the small down moult will continue throughout the year but at a lesser rate but it is there specially when a pigeon is coming up into form, it will also aid he Dogs Moult in his coat

Sorry for going off the subject of Dogs

And Uglydog

I use more Herbs for the pigeon ailments than antibiotices

Allicin is a very unstable compound, the half life of the actual allicin is 1 day. After the chemical reaction occurs producing allicin, it rapidly deteriorates. Allicin is also undetectable in supplements OTC. Even the enteric coated tablets show that the stomach acid breaks Allicin down rapidly. Also once allicin is ingested it is rapidly broken down by our bodies, it RARELY ever makes it to the blood stream. If allicin could even make it to the bloodstream it would rapidly change into another compound thus giving no effect. I am not trying to doubt you, but the research shows that yes allicin COULD be theraputic, research shows a very low percentage of positive results theraputically. Also, I will say that if you can make the compound stable enough to stay in the body long enough it could drastically change the way we fight infections.

artisan-Was the trials of Allicin done on humans or test tubes? Because allicin is very potent in test tube trials.

Recently a team of British scientists came up with stabilized Allicin which is absorbed into the bloodstream and it does not change into different compounds. Most of what you said is absolutely true, but research has come up with a stabilzied form of Allicin. The name of this type of Allicin is Allimed. Look it up.

Plus rubbing raw garlic on the site of the infection is also good. No wonder they managed to save 250 patients suffering from MRSA.
