For the original poster: I have the phone number for Mr. Chong of vom Hesperia Land, who may know of the owner of the dog, know of the dog etc. Email me privately and I will provide it. It is best for you to speak directly to him since you are involved and know the situation and I do not.

Hodie,

As a fellow rescuer myself, I feel your pain! I also feel really bad for you because wherever you live there must be a ton of schmucks. In suburban Chicagoland there are many well meaning people that want to provide a permanent home for a dog or a cat. I also have one of the top German showline breeders in the U.S. near me. This kennel always takes their dogs back (aggressive or not). I have yet to meet a GSD that I could not work with, train and place in a good home. With that said, there are some dogs that for whatever genetic reason are not wired correctly upstairs. (Just like too many people we know). These dogs do need to be put down because they are not only dangerous, but, they lead a horrible life.

Lastly, I am very glad that you wrote your post above. There is a huge pet-overpopulation problem in this country. Thankfully there are those like yourself who try to make a difference. At times it is very depressing. In my opinion when the good quality breeders out  there get off their high horses about how everyone has a right to breed and start to communicate with the rescues to figure out this horrible problem everyone will be better off. The quality breeders will only stand to make more money selling their quality dogs. We can not save them all, but, at least we put our MONEY (a lot of it) where are mouths are.

Sooo, sad.

Hope something good can come out of the dog's situation.

Maybe someone bought him and he was never socialized and ended up there.

He probaly isn't even what he seems.

I just got back from work and have a few minutes to update everyone.

Mr. Chong called the shelter today as well as myself and as a result the dog is rescued.

The dog will be released to me tomorrow after he is neutered microchiped and vaccinated.

A note in regards to a post earlier...the dog is not an aggressive dog. He was marked as such due to the lack of knowledge by people who handled him as well as his behavior in the kennel. A behavior that would be expected under the crowded/stressed environment the dogs live in at the shelter.

Please no more calling people late at night for phone numbers or bashing breeders.

My intention was to get help and get this dog out of the shelter, mission accomplished!

Thank you very much Joe. I will keep you posted.

Thank you everyone.

Good work, Moriah. You are a star. Most people just talk. You busted your behind to make things happen to save this dog. Wish there were more folks like you in the world.

Just for the heck of it I Looked up the parents and that litter on the data base... turns out that. both of his parents are "V" rated this would be a litter brother (or maybe him)...  so sad that without your help this dog would have died... The gang here deserves a great pat on the back for their background work finding the info and saving him!
