If you, as a handler have never put a BH on a dog before, you have to take the written test. It is not big deal, 20 questions, mutliple choice. The questions are almost always the same, just different order. You must get 80% correct, if I remember, to go on to do the  BH test.

My dogs can't read.  And it's really hard for them to hold a pen.

Policemom

'Fred' cannot but worse still, i have a problem myself

Cannot you put down a Cross on each question to say you understand it

but what ever we will give it a go, another word you could put  on the sheet is 'PASS'

I think it will be different in Belgium, they do not use one sheet of paper when they can use Ten, could be a long test

Hi muttlover25

Printed the USA test off and i filled it out for a bit of Fun, But there are no answers so do not know anyway the rules over there But i guess it was no problem and easy enough

I cannot see the relevance of doing it though, because you will etheir Pass A or not, before to go onto the Traffic section

So you have to do the sequences right in the first place

But if thats the rules we have to abide by them or not take the test

Howdy,

I was not aware that they start to require the test in the US.

For Germany it is as Bea states, and imo a good thing to do. It's not that hard, and after all, if you have done it once, you never have to bother with it again.

Just a quick update on the BH test today some good some bad. First of all both of our dogs passed with no issues at all. We had a great time with the people at the club and the judge was fantastic VERY nice lady. [Carla Griffith] Now the bad, we actually went with a group of us and one of our friends dogs was viciously attacked by another dog while doing the traffic portion of the BH. We had just started walking in single file down a road where the car was to come by, this dog pulled right over to my friends dog and attacked him.  The owner had NO control and couldn't get the dog off of him, we were hitting him and trying so many things but the attack went on for at least a minute [felt like hours!] Once they finally got the dog off he was excused and we were told could never participate in Schutzhund again, I really hope that is true this dog has NO place on any field around anyone else's dogs.  My friend rushed her dog to the vet where they stopped taking count of the stiches, internal and external. Needless to say this was NOT a good experience. Several of the trainers came over to us afterward and were saying that they had never seen anything like this before.  The club said they will pay for the dogs vet bills but I really think the owner should, whats the opinion here?? Its not like the club did anything wrong whatsoever in fact before starting to walk the judge even said make sure you give yourselves enough room, this guy could not handle his dog plain and simple.  I just feel terrible for this lady this was her first trial and I talked her into it!!
