Does the SV accept digital xrays to get an a stamp?

The only Banfield clinic that I have ever seen is the one at the Petco where I purchase dog food. I certainly would not use them as I prefer to use a private veterinary clinic. I do understand how they stay in business, as they are open during times that a "normal" veterinary clinic is not and are convenient to someone who is shopping for animal food. When I moved to Tennessee I began buying dog food there as it was the only local place that sells Royal Canin. I did need a new veterinarian and I never considered using them at all. I still would not consider using them even for something simple. Louise, that is interesting information and thank you for sharing that with the group here. All more reason to never use this firm. Best Regards, Bob-O

X-rays are a diagnostic tool, just like drawn blood or urine or feces. They are legally the property of the vet clinic - what you pay for is the service of diagonsis by the vet. the x-rays are a tool to let him further his diagonsis. The alternative is to tell the vets that you want a copy prior to the x-ray being done, they can put two sheets of film in the cassette or take 2 back to back. You can also take a digital photo of the x-rays up on the light box before you leave the vet hospital. OFA takes digitals, the vet hospital has to be signed up and send them in. Drew

policemom: "Does the SV accept digital xrays to get an a stamp?" ************************************************************************************************ Yes, but, I understand, you must be a member (costs ~ $100/year--includes their magazine) of the SV to do so. You must also submit a hard copy CD as well as a digitized photo of the xray directly to the SV. This is a fraction of the cost of going through the WDA or USCA offices. At the present time, neither of these organizations accepts digital xrays for submission to the SV. So much for technical advances.
