If D.P.s proposals are acceptable to the rank and file of the G.S.D. groups, that would be a great start, remember there isn't a great deal of time left for getting ready for this meeting, time spent planning is never wasted. I would like to see D.P. Involved in the discussions with the K.C. I dont know anyone better qualified than him in shepherds to lead, and take the fight, to the conclussion that is acceptable to all parties.

Bill, if what you say is true, then an agreed format has to be made available to all a.s.a.p. to further improve the chances of getting what's needed from the KC.
DP, I'll be up early to scan your website, thank you again.

DP, well done, that must have taken a lot of time and thought.
I want to ask a couple of questions; might it be better/easier if the BC were to include your proposals as a mandatory part of the Breed Survey?
I ask this because... if the BC et al, can get the KC to agree that only Breed Survey Class 1 / (2?) dogs can have an "enhanced" (pink/blue/whatever you want to call it) registration, the BC could include a "proper" working & temperament test and change and update the surveys as necessary without much grief?

Beepy, Estweyn, Reason, Margaret N J, Bill, what do you think? DP's made a big effort with this & I'd like to know what everyone else thinks please!

I think the proposals put forward by D.P. show the amount of thought and effort to blend peoples contributions and input from this thread. This document could be a corner stone, not only for the Shepherd people, but for all breeds in this country. If feedback is needed then it should be done quickly, so the people selected for the meeting in November can know it, and understand it like their times tables. It is well ballanced and gives the K.C. many opportunities to gain from such a document. If the basis of these proposals are acceptable, It just needs the best team to present them to the K.C. missbeeb: There are a number of problems with your suggestion, here are just a few.
The Kennel Club WILL want a "one size fits all" system. NOT many breeds have a Breed Council and not many breeds have Breed Surveys.
The Kennel Club came off badly in the BBC programme and will want "significant" credit and recognition of any Health Improvement System introduced for pedigree dogs here in the UK.
Many GSD breeders will want the simple and straight forward KC certification of my proposals, WITHOUT the need for any Breed Survey. Where others will want both. These proposals cater for ALL BREEDERS.
