Since most of you seem to read at the level of a 4th grader, what Trafalgar said was that this country could be improved by a set of public policies that reflected greater compassion for our fellow human beings. He did not say that any one of you individually could be expected to vote for such policy -- he is apparently well aware that most of you are perfectly happy claiming love of unborn children, but then pretty much hating them once they're born. He merely said that if such policy were passed, it would in his value system, be an improvement. His point was that while it was Ted Kennedy's intention to advance such liberal causes in the rightist country, he failed.
Anyone who doesn't understand that the US is the farthest right wing rich industrial nation is very oddly deprived of a basic exposure to 20th century history. You can believe in your rightwing causes, that's your right, but you do not have the right to lie about the better social safety nets in every civilized nation of the world.

No legitimate historian would argue that our negative effects on small democracies around the world has been mixed since then, with many incidents of negative impact.
We are the only rich nation to consistently renege on environmental policy, on poverty policy, and especially on UN based poverty alleviation policy.
We have consistently destabilized much of the world to serve our economic and military interests since 1970.
We will almost single handedly destroy any multilateral international solution to anthropogenic climate change.
If you are going to wave your flags, wave them over the part of our history that was positive. Don't be blind about recent history.
Is it really so hard to see the truth?

Anthropogenic climate change does not exist, at least not to the extent that scientists can agree on. www.climtechsolutions.com/
Ron,
For what it's worth, I don't think you're a street level pharmaceutical salesman.
