Actually - and sorry everyone if this thred really IS dead ! - can we go back to something 2Cats touched on in the Original Post ? Which NOBODY has commented on in these 24 pages ?

While lamenting that two pups the OP had owned were completely unlike an earlier dog, it was said they "would not even look at" 2Cats, much less actually listen.

Can I suggest this was maybe just as much due to that thing about them being two pups at once, as it was a difference in stability of temperament, as compared to the 'ideal' previous dog ? There is a good reason why good breeders do not usually sell two pups together out of the same litter and why experienced people usually recommend that customers do not 'get round' this by purchasing two of much the same age from different places.

Two youngsters, unless managed with a degree of knowledge and experience, do have a tendency to relate better to each other than to their new owner. It isn't insurmountable, but even a good stable temperament, ALONE, isn't sufficient to counteract that happening; the owner must know what they are doing, and must make efforts to separate and teach each pup individually.

Yes, if your dog won't even look at you, you have done something wrong with socializing him/her.
