The Powell pic is photoshopped.

 Hi keepthefaith,

"BTW, you should be careful citing Iran and other countries who would like to see Obama elected - after all, there was a recent report that Al Qaeda would like to see McCain elected"

Dr Walid Phares has looked at this charge, and disagrees:

Dr Phares' assessment, among other points, states that this is jihadi reverse psychology, which makes perfect sense if you think about it.

Regards,

Micky

"The Powell pic is photoshopped."

Yup.  It's a pretty good 'shop, isn't it, Blitzen?

by Blitzen on 24 October 2008 - 20:10

I think it's disrespectful, Micky. I don't enjoy stuff like that, even if it's Palin . I don't even like the SNL political skits.

All this talk about socialism begs the question - isn't social security and medicare just that?

"All this talk about socialism begs the question - isn't social security and medicare just that?"

Precisely! Socialism has a broad definition and does not mean that everything is government owned and operated. Even the progressive tax system essentially chooses to shift the tax burden to those who can less afford it - and I have not heard any mainstream Republicans argue that progressive taxation should be abolished.

Also, earned income credits currently go to families who don't pay any taxes - so the idea that citizens would receive a tax refund although they don't pay taxes is hardly a new concept.

BTW, there is a video clip of McCain saying - I think in 2000 - that increasing the tax burden on high income earners and reducing the tax burden on the middle class is entirely appropriate and fair. By McCain's definition he was being socialistic in suggesting it.

The following quotes are from an interview with Sarah Palin. I would think the Republican base would be quite horrified by her responses urging phased amnesty.

As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?
There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that’s not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.

Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?
No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They’ve got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

I know that there are many Ron Paul advocates on this site (because we went down this road during the primaries).

I just heard Ron Paul on TV saying the following.  I want to make it clear so I am not mis-quoted.  He did not endorse McCain, but what he did say is this:

1)  Barack Obama offers nothing to help with the economic problems.  Nothing that will work.

2)  The last thing that we need is more socialism.

3)  The last thing we need and the worst thing that we could do, would be to raise taxes on anyone, at this time.

4)  When it comes to ecomomic issues, there is not much difference between Obama and McCain except that McCain at least will not raise taxes and will not get rid of the Bush tax cuts already implemented.

The latest AP Polls show a virtual dead heat. For some reason the Main Stream Media has ignored this poll.

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D93VM4PO0&show_article=1

Also if I remember correctly, last election they had John Kerry up by 11 Points with a week to go.

And we all must remember them projecting Kerry on election day afternoon as our next president.

I also remember them projecting Gore as the winner in Florida well before the precincts closed.

They just can't seem to get it right, or is it done on purpose?

How could they be so wrong??

by Uglydog on 24 October 2008 - 21:10

Dead Heat my ass...How could 'they 'be wrong?

Folks, YOU ARE LIED TO !

Every Day..If you turn on your TV, you are lied to by a media Shill & whore, owned by dual citizen Israelis..oh yea, I have all of their names & titles.  Request them, and Ill list them. Same with the Federal Reserve. Thems the Facts. I cant change them.

Everything you hear on radio & read in newsprint is Pentagon approved, censored, edited & produced. You are not told the truth.  US Media is 53rd most free of 165 nations, in 2007 Worldwide Media Freedom Index Poll of Journalists, with 50 criteria.

Find some decent News Internet Sites & become informed. Step out of your matrix & coma.

I like RENSE, WhatReallyHappened, Truthseeker, Republic Broadcasting, Judicial Inc & I read Israeli News daily. Wake up or stay stupid.
