Duke, I understand that, I have understood it from the first post, however, I also understand that there is nothing I can do about it. None of the people posting in here can actually, so, while you can voice your opinion and dismay, ultimately, TSA or whoever, will do what they are told to do by those who make those decisions.

I am over 40 and for anyone else who is, I realize that we grew up during a time when things were not as PC as they are now, I get that. I will be the first one to admit that political correctness offends me, but, it is a way of life and its not going away, so, I can either accept it and not let it affect me, or, I can stew in it...I choose to not allow it to get in my way of doing things, adaptability is a great thing.

Finally sir, I am not "married" to any one breed, but, all things considered, I am a Malinois person, however, like I mentioned in my previous post, as long as the dog works like I want it to, I am good.

Joan, I am one of those weird people who MUST have a dog I can live with, regardless of how great of a working dog it is. I have been there, lived with a dog that was probably the greatest patrol dog ever, but, admitedly, THE worst  dog ever to live with and I am a good dog person.

Hired, we are talking about living with a detector dog, not patrol dog that was likely trained for apprehension.
Different type dogs, I think. But whatever works for you is all that matters. I think, however, that your "adaptability" would also apply to getting along with a dog you earn your living with...but that's just me.

And as for being passive in the face of what is happening in the world....I'll go down fighting rather than to give up my freedom...because ultimately that's what it all boils down to. And I'll keep my pointy eared dogs even if kids are scared chittless over them...let the parents teach their little darlings that looks don't kill.

can you be more specific what exactly was wrong, to make these dogs unsuitable to live with?

Patrol dogs are not necessarily difficult to live with, but some are, just like some single-purpose detector dogs, some sar dogs, some rescue dogs, etc., etc., etc.

I knew a handler that had an active alert narcotics detection dog that made LOCKING the bathroom door a necessity, but eventually the dog destroyed the door. Fortunately he owned the house.

I had a dual purpose dog that went berserk any time she heard certain noises. At 2 p.m., this was a real sleep destroyer. There was no training her otherwise because of reward associations at work. Other than that, she was an absolute joy in the house.

My current dog loves baths so much that she'll turn on the water in the tub--repeatedly-- and then gets all wet and runs through the house shaking. Other than the cost and waste, I don't want her scalding herself. Or the cat drowning (he likes baths, too). So this dog is currently a big pain in the petunias to live with right now because of cleaning up the messes. We're working on not turning on the water, but she's stubborn about stuff that intrinsically rewards her.

several vendors already stopped selling floppy eared dogs to TSA, 

TSA took 3 out of 25,  2 out of 20 etc, and the vendors are already getting Fed up with TSA, the floppy eared dogs are hard to find and not as good, so these vendors quit TSA, will see how it will continue with them idiots if they dont get their numbers

The TSA may eventually realize an economic principle - the law of supply and demand. Until they can no longer acquire their 'non-threatening looking' dogs, they will stick to their misguided notions, but in the end, the laws of economics will settle the debate.

its simple koots, you cannot buy what is not there

I could see more labs (breed currently being used a lot for seeing eye and medical detector work) getting sold to TSA, and more pointy ears being sold for seeing eye or medical detection work.
