I think it's worse that she didn't live there. If they had to live like that, she should too. How can you properly care for dogs if no one is even living there??? What if one of them got sick? Hurt? Inexcusable.

Dawn, I agree with much of Jenni's post.
Not the "5inches thick" stuff, because I still do not see that in these
photos; even the HS Report only talked about 2 inches.
I believe that these conditions took less time to happen than many
people have guessed at; I say this because I have seen (not caused !)
some pretty awful conditions myself, because I too know our breed and
how some of them, whatever their natural inclinations to be clean, can
soon react to stress, including getting bloody diorrhoea, and because I
am aware of how quickly the sort of materials you were using as bedding
cake up when wetted by either urine or spilled water. [And how it sticks to
the wires !] But on the other hand I am unable to believe the conditions
were simply a result of one day on which the raid stopped you from cleaning
up. More like three ?
On "innocent until proved guilty", yes I think you should have your day
in Court; and I have gone to some effort to call on the consciences of
posters to recognize there may be health issues at the base of this.
But I do agree you should be seeking help on that count, please; and
that there probably was an earlier point where you should have sought
that help already.
As to the pros and cons of dogs being claimed / rehomed and when, &
who has said what to who, I cannot have any way of knowing. I do hope
that at some point the whole truth of the matter is made public, and that
any wrongdoing on anyone's part is met by appropriate penalties.

Hundmutter, perhaps I exaggerated to make a point. I see more than 2" of SHIT in those crates and kennels. I don't really care if bedding is making it taller. It's still SHIT and the dogs still had to LIVE in it. That is abuse to force a naturally clean animal to live in its own excrement, regardless of the circumstances. I don't give a shit if it's 2 inches of shit or 5. INCHES OF SHIT takes a while to build up. I guess I must just be really lucky, but I've never had one of my dogs react to stress with bloody diarrhea all over their crates, and I think that if that happened to me, then I would most likely clean it up. Just a thought. I also would certainly never use a dog with that type temperament for breeding, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms. The point is while the seizure reeks to high heavens as far as the way it was carried out IF what we're reading is true (and we really don't know...I sure don't, anyway. I'm in Chicago), but there is no excusing the photos. Zero. Health problems or not, your dogs are your responsibility and if you cannot see to them, then you need to get someone else to. Not seeking help and hanging onto more animals than you can care for is either greed or a mental disorder or both.
I was actually in a similar situation myself(not the hoarding, but the having a few days where dogs were living in a house I wasn't staying in). I was ill enough that I could not stay alone and I could not bring my dogs to where I was staying. So, twice per day, against bedrest orders, I got a ride to my home where my dogs were (they were loose in the house, not crated) and I took care of them for a week until I could get my best friend to drive up here from out of state and take them for a few months. YOU PROVIDE FOR THEIR CARE WHEN YOU CANNOT DO IT YOURSELF. End of story.
I have horses and dogs and I know a little bit about bedding. I fail to see how 3 days could make ANY habitat look like that. My dogs lived alone in a house for a week, with care being provided only twice per day. No major messes, a few couch pillows on the floor, dog hair in my bed. That's what a few days of no one being home does. Not those photos.

Linda, I don't disagree with much of your post, but 3 days? On what planet?

So much for innocent until proven guilty. I guess you all know better.

Earth. It honestly doesn't take long to get that way; you are comparing
apples to oranges when you talk about uncaged dogs, Jen. If they are
in crates that cramped, or even one dog alone in a kennel + run about twice
the size of those crates, if never let out and exercised, or cleaned up regularly,
will make that sort of mess. When disturbed by noises and with nowhere
comfortable to sleep, dogs will be leaping around - a LOT. So it goes
up the walls, on to the wires. Most of them will have walked in the shit on the
floor, simply because there's no room to walk round it (occasional dogs don't even
need that excuse LOL). My 'saying what I see' does not detract from the fact
that I, too, think its a horrible way for them to live. As for blood, that was not
a common factor in all crates, which indicates that some indivduals have more
delicate digestive systems than others, something patently true for the whole,
normally well cared for, population of GSDs.

Wow, are you missing the point. So you let the dogs out to play and then returned them to the nasty crates? Gee, let me give you a medal for your nobility. No one cares about how many hours exactly. It's irrelevant because that kind of mess takes forever. Unless you're saying you had nothing to do with the property in the pics and your dogs were all stolen from a clean environment and staged by the SPCA in that environment we saw in an effort to frame you..........give it a rest. It's irrelevant. It was your property and you left dogs in those conditions.
Typical hoarder excuses. I unfortunately know a little about your type. Last year I had the pleasure (NOT) of being involved in getting a few children taken from someone with your thought process. There was no heat, little food, they had to climb over junk all over, and they'd have burned to death had the house caught fire from using the oven to heat the house as they were doing. Sound like a place for children to live? I think not. But people who hoard and neglect always want to confuse the issues by pointing out what someone else may have done wrong. In the incident I mention last year, *I* was actually blamed by the hoarder for taking photos of the conditions that led to the children being taken. I didn't even take the photos! The police did! But rather than see the CONDITIONS as a problem, let's blame the police and Jen for taking photos! As if it all would be fine if it were never documented. INSANE. Same thing here with complaining about a stolen dog. 100 wrongs do not make YOUR actions (inactions) right.

Linda, my point was that she's saying she played with them and acting like 21 hours caused that horrid, horrid sight. Utter b.s. If they were let out, it woudn't have happened. I'm not comparing CONDITIONS, I'm comparing situations and making the point that dogs alone don't make that kind of mess in a couple days. She was there to feed, obviously, or they wouldn't have had so much poop in the kennels and crates. If you're there to feed, let them out for God's sake. I could go on and on.

I recently had a sick dog than 6 months, it was the jet box, but it was always clean and the dog was brought out so many times. if they had been treated there was trash all over the house ? .
Because the companion / friend , is/was wanted because 'fled ?
Look at the pictures of Dante vom Hunter Haus on the Internet as it was !! and now 'photo number 27 and I think 3 pictures before (the dog inside the jet box) can be such a dog locked in there?
fortunately there are the testimonies of the sheriffs, photos, movies that rely more 'than all our words .
If for you is all normal go to ophthalmologist !!
* excuse me for my english

The level of denial and rationalization is what makes this woman dangerous.(to dogs). I have no doubt that some of the dogs got out running around. Does your atty know u r posting on a public message board? Hey keep posting it can all be used as evidence to indicate your mental illness and hopefully keep these or any dog away from you.
