In other words: far right repbulicans who praise the career of Kennedy and far left progressives who denigrate it - are probably considering his legacy in actuality rather than kicking out in a knee jerk typical fashion.
Furthermore, political opinion is one thing but ANY ad hominem attacks on a person who just died is undeniably tasteless, imo.
Personally, I'm a far left progressive but I don't feel - in aggregate, the legislation Kennedy sponspored has advanced the cause of the poor and disenfranchised - although he undeniably had that intention.
A STEEPLY progressive income tax, a capital gains tax = to the income tax, a SINGLE PAYER health insurance system, a super strong WATCHDOG force in government that reigns in the machinations of corporations, lobbyists & the religious right are all things that would REALLY help this country -
and that he did not accomplish.
Of course the republican party - starting with twin evils of Nixon & Reagan and culiminating with the bizarre workings (not conservative btw) of Bush2 and the neocons - have been SOOOO much of a failure that Kennedy and legislation he endorsed - by default- represent a decent try.

John 3:18:
There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son

He has a lot of goobledygook that he spews that sounds like he's bending God's ear. Sometimes it even sounds right. I would beware though, because none of it feels good, right or loving to the soul.

Ray,
I guess there is no talking to you. If people do not do what they want on their own terms do you think that they will do it on yours?! And you're,.... nevermind, forget I even thought that.
You know what? There is no talking to you. I can say plenty more but it will still fall on deaf ears. Raymond, you believe what youd do and I will believe what ever I do. But, do not, keep on pushing what you believe to me! Or any body else. You think your doing the right thing by "God" going on and on but I'll tell you, your doiing the opposite. If you maybe had a more submissive approach, people miight be a little more receptive. But these days are not like the old when you said, "God will strike you dead". And people believed. We are now in the 21 century and if you didn't notice, times have changed! Don't know how old you are Ray but I'm 41 and times have changed since I was a little girl. So has the Catholic church!
How many churches have disregarded or moved the pedofile priests' to other parishes? I can't remember who said it ...but the Catholic church is one of the most wealthy yet claims to be in the most poverty. What of that Ray?

And I say: Who gave you the right to tell me what insurance I have?
Who gave you the right to take away anybody's money and give it to someone else?
Marx?

I might add to Prager's post with this comment .........If you feel you have a duty to help others, than you personally should give your own money and/or time to do so. If you feel that government programs are a better way to help people than charities, then by all means feel free to pay extra taxes out of your own pocket! It is a personal duty and responsibility to care for the "less fortunate," not a government mandate.
