Hanaki89, PDB rules only OFA USA lab that will be accepted on the PDB.  Members will need to send other Lab results to OFA to be entered on their site so Admin can verify this on the OFA site.  If not on the OFA site it will not be allowed on the PDB. 

@GSDHeritage KNPV dogs are not "pure breed dogs", there are only "pure working dogs". Nobody wants to enter them on PDB, do not worry about that.

@duke1965 Can I have your Embark's results for this dog plz?
Without having the results for the KNPV dutchy you mentioned, I claim that Embark did not messed up with the DNA test, the problem is only the .pdf that this company gave you after because it is made for all other Dutch and Belgian Shepherds all around the world and not for KNPV dogs.
For the "KNPV malinois" I found on the internet, she carries a brindle gene that Embark found. So Embark wrote that she is a "dutch shepherd" even if she is not, and wrote all her family tree as dutch because malinois and dutchy are the same dog except for the color.
Malinois and Dutchies have 99.99% the same DNA pool. If I send to Embark (or any company) the DNA of my FCI Belgian Malinois without the color genes, they will not be able to tell me if I have a Dutch or a Belgian shepherd.
For your KNPV dutchy Embark found a brindle gene so I suppose that the company wrote that its father is a herder even if you know for sure that he is a fawn KNPV malinois. You have to read the DNA results a little bit differently if you have a KNPV dog, but that does not mean that results are wrong.

im not saying they messed up, im saying that if you take a mixed breed dog and you find a spark of dutch shepherd DNA in it, doesnot make it a 100% dutch shepherd

Hanaki, are you 100% sure " Nobody wants to enter (KNPV mixes) on PDB", anyway ? You might be surprised at what the admins have said some people try to do !

@Hundmutter I am sure being admin here is a huge mess, and I am sure I do not want to hear about it.

@duke1965 Can we have the BNR number of your dutch shepherd? You might overestimate the import of other bloods in KNPV lines. For example: the world famous "KNPV pitbull malinois mix" Rico Vergossen BNR 17064 has no pitbull blood at all!!!

hanaki, your facts are off, there are multiple influences in knpv lines/dogs, not only pitbull, but that is beside my point, if you have a yellow X malinois, and you find a shred of dutchy DNA in it, you cant say its a 100% pure dutch shepherd, supposedly you know the bloodline of the example you post, why dont you share it so we can see the 100% Dutch shepherd ancestry of the dog

also I would like to hear your opinion of where pure malinois, get black saddles, extreme jawstructure, musclestructure and bulldogfronts, if not mixed with other breeds

I do not know the previous dog I posted. I just tiped "embark KNPV" on Google and it was the second answer. I tried to explain you why Embark could miss a malinois for a dutch or the opposite. It is not a problem of reading the DNA, just the results are made for FCI dogs.

BNR 17064 was a myth that everybody know. He was known to be a malinois pitbull mix, and finally he was not. You can find everything on the internet. His father BNR 2116 is register as "mix malinous rüde" and his mother BNR 14265 as "mix malinois hündin".

If you give us the BNR of your dog and you put in public acces your Embark results I pretend that I can explain them.

the dog is not owned by me, so not my call.. again, you simply pass by the fact that a yellow mal mix is rated as a 100% dutch shepherd, everybody with a little bit common sense will tell you that is not correct

Before Embark, I used Paw Print Genetics. So I already had results and DNA on file. The results of Embark were the same as with Paw Print Genetics. So they were correct.

I thought a lot about using Embark, but concluded that I just don't trust them. If my top quality dogs came back on Embark with issues, would I trust it? no. I wouldn't. I've seen a few too many incredibly questionable results from Embark to consider it a good source for information. So if they came back clear from Embark, that would mean nothing to me.

If it were a trustworthy way of testing, veterinarians and OFA would use it, and they don't. So, I'll stick with OFA for what I can do.
