Wish I could find that same dog again, as it had some HUGE fluffy hair. Well, at least where it had hair.

The 'naked' Chinese Crested is lovely, its like holding a hot water bottle. They are called 'crested' because although hairless dogs, they have a few hairs sticking up on on head & ears (the crest); they usually have feathering on the lower legs and feet and end of tail too. The percentage of the breed which isn't hairless is covered in a fine silky coat all over; these are known as Powderpuffs, and are geneticaly essential to the breed. A population composed of only hairless dogs would prove fatal.
There is a Mexican Hairless breed too; I don't think that looks much like a Chinese Crested. Xolos are altogether bigger & more solid dogs; different colour patterns; increasingly popular tho' I have not yet met one in the flesh.

This guy! Looked like a pony at first glance, on his small multi-generational picture page.
Most of ya'll probably are not into horses, let alone carriage driving. Though fancy harness ponies is a thing amongst some folk. The flashier looking with all their flowing hair the better.
No, I do not need glasses. LOL

See, same body color, even the white mark going up the hind leg. Though his mane & everything has really been trimmed up on him.

These guys really have all hair stuff going on for them:

So there, that is why I thought OMG a pony on PDB. ;)

'Legends' is a lovely specimen, TWC, but that photo is cropped so you cannot accurately see the size of the dog. Chinese Crested are a Toy-sized breed, so no chance, in life, of being mistaken for ponies. Where have you been, anyway ? I can recall lots of pics posted here on PDB of members' horses, or just ones they thought beautiful; we've had Fallabellas, other Miniature horses; Tennessee Walking stallions; one member used to post pics of herself riding Rodeo/Circus horses, and her Brahma bull ! For a DOG website, we've had more than a few equine pin-ups.
