I raise long coats. He is a long coat 100%. Just in the puppy stage. His coat will come in more as he ages.

Qman, the circles I used to run in, "tight coat" was also often used.

sometimes people just won't follow the rules. :)

Rik, educate me: what type of coat was/is referred to as 'tight' in AKC circles ? (I am assuming you mean your Show days) - it sounds as though it would be someone suggesting the coat on a dog was kinda "lacking in plush", so just a normal sort of stock coat, not too thin but not with any extra thickness ? Don't recall hearing the term before. Like I said, not something we pay the same amount of attention to over here (we just bitch about the American Show peoples' fixation with longer and 'better' coats on all sorts of breeds, and how that can destroy 'type' !)

Long coat. If you look close, when first born and before they dry out, you can often see the slight waves on their back.

Yes, and will increase knowledge all round ! This still does not look quite like any of my longcoats did at that age; but it is only one photo ...

just taken this pic. I can see he is starting to shed his baby hair. The middle part is his new hair....can we know from this section? Haha
