^^^^^ "I told you about the "mandatory" temperament test, now finally called " ZAP1 ", last year, as I already guessed this test now becomes a rule for every dog born after June 2017... "
GEE .... I woner why "mandatory" temperament testing has come to the forefront..... Sch in and of itself was designed to be a temperament test of the GS , Wasn't it ?
Since the test is mandatory .. relating to another recent thread about breeding... now what do you all think is the most important factor in breeding ? Perhaps Temperament? And maybe perhaps what I wrote , that the GS mentality has changerd significantly over the years .. maybe , just maybe , that is a truthful statement more than the average, even proferssional , person realizes ?
Thank you for sharing the post Susie.

Susie, just where is the pressure coming from ? Not denying influence of US and maybe other markets, but someone within the structure has to be promoting these changes. --Hundmutter
From my understanding this is Heinrich Meßler push, this was the first year he had ever attended an IPO (or SchH) trial and has stated repeatedly that "...the sport GSD has no place in the future of the GSD breed"

I thought they might increase participation world wide by raising the standards and making more difficult, lengthy, rigorous and robust testing requiring more handler time and skill commitment and more personal financial input.
Be darned, they made everything easier instead.

Ziegenfarm, I cannot find the English version of the mentioned test however here is the French version. It's pretty visual so for you words are probably not necessary. In my opinion it can be trained and/or conditioned for and does not meet the standards of the Swedish Breed Tests.

Everybody who was able to title a dog according to SV rules by himself surely will be able to "temperament test/ZAP1 test" a dog according to SV rules ( no training necessary, just the test ).
The consequences in case "the pup did not obtain the required temperament test in that 6 month time frame"? Not breed worthy in my country ( according to the official statements right now, and it will happen ).
but there will be exceptions to the rule for dogs born outside of Germany like always ( SV is talking about "basic", "premium", advanced" already). Loopholes ( and time ) enough...
