This is a Welsh corgi, not a GSD.
I am doing the best I can with the space I have. The owner is a breeder who is renting kennel space from me. If it weren't for my soft heart, the pups would be freezing to death out in the main kennel rather than in a nice, warm, private room with a baseboard heater and a heating pad.
The only thing I can change to better the management is to turn her out in the runs when the other dogs are inside.
I am sorely tempted to just throw the whole mess back in her lap, and let her manage it.

Bitch that doesn't have a proper place to whelp should not have been bred...the dogs always pay the price. This whole scenario makes me sick, poor mother dog eating her puppies alive.

Does she live in a cardboard box? Why does she need to rent space and can't whelp a litter in her home?
Like Joan said, it always is the dogs that suffer.

Because she has more dogs than she is allowed to keep in her house. She also has a day job that doesn't allow her to give the bitch the attention she and her babies need.
She has purchased the kennel from me, so I'll soon be gone. She'll be able to give the dogs more attention once we've both moved.
And I should have known better than to post this here...
Believe me, the dogs are much better off now than they were before I entered the lease agreement with her!
The dogs I was turning her out with belong to the SAME OWNER and she is familiar with them. I think one of them may be a littermate. I NEVER turn dogs that don't know each other out together, except in very rare circumstances.

I would be reporting this BYB.

I hope you can make the necessary adjustments to save the rest of the pups and keep mom feeling safe.

Whatever...
BYB or no, she's doing well at it. She sold her home for over $1 million.
I put this place on the market because I couldn't make ends met.
Life is pretty damned unfair sometimes.
She will be hiring someone to look after the dogs (and cats) while she is running her pet store business. And this place gets inspected every year, and the license renewal is NOT automatic...
