RMA2

Stoelzle, Susie had given you many hints of what to include while posting a basic ad on this site. You stated that this is your first litter in 30 years. A professional post will not be a rambling history full of things that could be discussed with a potential buyer LATER. ie: multiple varieties of foods given to the dam. You still never mentioned DM testing in your posts again. Having had DM tests on both parents is VERY important to most buyers so they look for it in an ad and will ask for the test results as part of the sale. Without it your "health guarantee" could sink you. Canine degenerative myelopathy, also known as chronic degenerative radiculomyelopathy, DM, is an incurable, progressive disease of the canine spinal cord that is similar in many ways to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). It is seen most frequently in the German shepherd dog. Most buyers are not going to want to purchase a pup from parents that have not been tested. Have you actually registered this entire litter with AKC? Are you selling the pups with UNRESTRICTED BREEDING RIGHTS? That would be really irresponsible if you have not bothered to do the appropriate DM testing on BOTH parents to make SURE that this dreadful genetic disease that is so prevalent in GDS's is not passed on. Buyers are going to want the the paperwork to show their pup is from provable DM free parents. Now that your dogs are over two it's time to have their official PenHips done if you ever want to have other litters. People don't want to see that you only have prelims but aren't willing to put down the funds to get finals if you are a legitimate responsible breeder. The parent dogs could have tested "fast normal" or "noch zugelassen" so it is important to show a potential buyer how both of the parents rated. the offspring from parents who rated Noch zugelassen to noch zugelassen would be unwanted by almost anybody. (see the recents forum post on HD) It also sounds like neither of your dogs are titled nor have proven themselves in any other way. Not in working, show, schutzhund or service. These pups should be sold as "pet" quality until you sacrifice the money and take the time to do the appropriate testing, training and title your dogs in legitimate venues. The value of the pups drops if the parents aren't proven in any way and you are only relying on the accomplishments of grandparents from generations back. These are the things that are very important to a potential purchaser and what they want to see in an ad. Not just, : "LC pups for sale. Great grandparents titled but nothing on parents, no final or important testing done on parents except for vaccines, not wormed or 2nd puppy shots yet, feel free to breed these pups as they wont have limited registration and they come with full breeding rights." Ugh! Keep all of these things in mind once you actually place your ad. I am sticking with my impression, you are a BYB bringing more pups into this world as a  "hobby" with your first litter in 30 years. Personally I am curently on this site looking for a new stud pup to add to our breeding program. This type of breeder who has hardly done the basics is EXACTLY what I would avoid. If your dogs actually ARE titled, fully tested, DM free with paperwork to prove it, parents are PenHip tested, if they come from wonderful pedigrees, titled, and the pups have been wormed regularly and have had second vaccines done, litter has been registered with AKC and all the accompanying paperwork to verify all this, then you will have luck selling them. Hopefully you will decide to never breed ANY dog again until you take this seriously and have fully completed all appropriate testing and the breeding dogs have truly desirable conformation. temperament, pedigree and health to justify putting more pups on an already glutted market. Obviously you can tell that I don't tolerate or support BYB's who clearly do not have the experience nor a mentor to guide them. Too much "junk" out there. Get serious or stop pumping out pups.

It´s amazing how peaceful you answered these posts...

I don´t know about the costs for the premium classifieds, never used them, but someone will know, and hopefully tell you.
Just try to find the best suitable homes for your pups, but I am sure that this is your main intention already.

I don't know about the premium listings but the cynic in me avoids those anyway... I feel like they are too much and someone is making too much money off the dogs if the post that way but I may be very very wrong.

Stoelze, I cannot find a record for the sire in the OFA database. If you have the document, you can send me a pm with an orthopedic database registration number, be that OFA, SV, FCI. I check the database and enter it here.

Watsongsd, the price of dogs offered in Premium Listings and Classifieds is set by the sellers and it is upon buyers to do due diligence, as everywhere. Kindly keep in mind though that you are using this site for free and that paid advertising allows you this.

I guess Stoelzle just wants to know how much he/she has to pay for a classified ad.

Didn't want to be too rude. You had just made a extremely bad impression on many of us a few months back with your posts. Your user name Stolzle, stuck with my memory and I commented on that previous post too. But my point here with this particular post is that there are too many people trying to make a quick buck out there and they are not taking the time, money and effort to produce & sell quality pups or take the necessary testing. You can find plenty of generic GSD's dogs that are a dime a dozen in your local newspaper or shelter. When you enter the pedigreed & titled breeding realm though you are expected to follow and adhere to some basic standards and testing. If you do not have the experience to do it right and have been on this site for two years then I really suggest you find a mentor that will help you. All of the prompts needed are right here on the website, plus plenty of examples of other "for sale" ads to tell you what to include. If you read the section about how to use this site, all the answers are there too. Ask a clear question and you'll usually get a clear answer. There are plenty of extremely experienced and responsible breeders on this site to help you. Susie had some perfect and basic suggestions. Hopefully your previous posts were not a true example of what to expect from you in the future as it was NOT a pretty image to paint and completely Off Topic as I commented back then. You were,..unforgettable. But not is a good way. Good luck and I hope you place your pups in good homes but without breeding rights until you get your DM ED and final hip checks done on your breeders.

RMA2, I suggest engaging with the posts in this thread, not with impressions of previous posts in old threads of unrelated content.

Stoelzle, the "Create Classified" button is under "Tools" in the upper right corner of the site. When you fill in the form you'll see an option to upgrade to Premium Listing. Clicking on it does not oblige you to pursue the Premium but you can explore your options.

Also in the upper right hand corner under 'Tools" is your 'Inbox", the tool to send and receive personal messages from users and admins. If there is a number, it indicates the number of unread messages in your inbox. If you encounter a problem, feel free to send a pm to an admin.

Again, thanks so much for everyone's advice.

I do have 2 serious mentors from whom I purchased each of my female dogs. Also, the woman whose male was used as sire and definitely felt the combination of the pair was a good breeding (of which she does quite a bit). I drove 7 hours to have this breeding done. I have the support of breeders on Facebook to whom I address my many questions.
I guess you might be familiar with the current owner of Peik who lives in Georgia and the past owner of Peik who lives in Florida. The past, I have consulted regarding hips in young dogs, the current has discussed with me at length regarding titling to which she feels strongly. She thinks very well of me and my practices.
I assure you that I will pursue the titling aspect once the weather clears. It is quite the drive when attempting to avoid deer in the road and cars slid off to the side. All in good time, my friend.

Hard to believe, but I checked with three vets here and they had never heard about the DM testing. So, I will also be having that done on the dam via the tests sent to the lab. The registration with AKC for this litter was began last week. All of the pups will be sold with limited registration.
I would like to assure you that I am not taking this lightly. My 10 are sleeping around me as I write this response. I have 3 college degrees and generally, a good head on my shoulders. Suffice to say that I recalled the enjoyment and feeling of accomplishment in providing healthy, well-tempered GSDs to people wanting just such a dog, years ago. I am happy to once again be part of the GSD breeding world to resume my interest in GSD breeding as a career and lifestyle choice.
Sometimes it is good to have someone with such a dedicated commitment to the breed, kick your butt a little and help you get on track.
My breeder associate just told me the cost for the Premium listings and I was surprised at just how reasonable the rates actually are for the advertising.
Thank you all so very much.
