K-9mom

I owned a bitch from Kreative that I procured at 3 years of age and she had been raised as a pet from 11 months but Kreative did the foundation training. She was AWESOME, high drives, but was very dog aggressive and sharper in protection than I was looking for. She was Good Hips/Normal Elbows, quick, agile and healthy. I kept her two years and had a lot of fun with her but ended up placing her as a Patrol/Corrections K9. But really nice dog if I hadn't had as many dogs as I had I would have kept her.

Ah no! Extreme volume breeder. Operated on CA mega dairy model since that's what their primary biz is.Ask what happens to "excess" pups- those not sold when the next 5 litters roll in. Ask rescue about the # of their dogs that show up in shelters. Better yet find an ex employee and talk to them. They are new 2 the breed and have a lot of money to throw around. That N a big honking website do NOT a good breeder make.

Kreative has some great blood lines on paper. The folks at Kreative are better than most at bloodline matings and they are knowledgeable about which bloodlines work well together. Practice makes perfect. Much of the criticism I have heard of Kreative seems to orbit around pricing and the conditions under which the dogs are housed. If the bloodlines you want are only available at Kreative and you have wads of money have at it. I would go to the Kreative head shed and see my choices in person if you have the knowledge to know what you are looking at. Kreative has some excellent dogs I am sure and some just OK ones too. If you can look at an 8 week old puppy and tell the difference at that age then you can find a dog at Kreative or anywhere. Kreative is run on a factory organization ( or perhaps a prison ) so I would be worried about who really knows the dogs inside out .. one person feeds, another 3 or 4 train, another does medical and another does marketing. I would also be concerned about the conditions the dogs live in and their environment ... with a lot of dogs mistakes will happen and some dogs will slip through the cracks. The quality and type of food fed to pregnant females and puppies would be a primary concern. My personal feeling is that Kreative charges prices in line or more expensive than imports but they are in the USA so it is more convenient and all imports are not top notch either. I would buy a dog from a breeder that has more knowledge of the dogs on a personal basis than a dog raised in the Kreative industrial approach. Nothing wrong with Kreative in principle but you can do better. Find a breeder who knows the grandparents and parents because they raised, trained, fed, and have personal experience with them on a daily basis. Kreative has dogs from several generations in some cases but I am not sure that you will get to talk to the people that know the dogs best and if you do that they will tell you everything they know .. they work for Kreative. Kreative socializes their puppies I am sure but how and how much might also be a concern. For older puppies past 4 months I would be concerned as to dog aggression and some social problems due to being raised in a prison system more than a home environment. Dogs need other dogs and humans to round off the sharp edges. A dog raised in a socially restrictive environment during puppyhood may be a very good police K9 but not so good as a companion or personal guardian living in the house with a human family and other dogs.

For once I agree Bubbaboo, when people from Ca. Ask me about potential kennel to get working dog, KK is absolutely a consideration, but when asked for a pure home pet, I never mention KK. All pups are crapshoot to some degree, but Thank God we still have breeders that breeds for true working dogs for a working breed, even though their standards might not meet everyone's criteria.

I did end up buying a puppy from Kreative.
A police K9 trainer that worked with myself and my other boy helped me pick him out. We looked at several 6 month old puppies, saw their puppy videos and chose the one that was shipped to me Christmas Eve.
He has been here a week now.
I will say that Mike from Kreative was very patient, called the kennel several times while I was on the line and asked the kennel help questions.
I fully understood I was getting a kennel raised puppy.
While some of his social skills with my almost 4 yr. Doberman bitch were less than perfect he learns quickly. I took him to meet the trainer and while I was very uncomfortable, he introduced him to his 4 yr old police dog and they ran and played for about a half hour.
His ball and hunt drives are excellent. He is steady, and confident and seems to learn quickly. He is adjusting to the many cats and three pet geese. He has been out and about, no problem with automatic doors, slippery floors, loud noises.
Shots up to date, no worms, etc. he was a little on the thin side but vet said most GSD puppies don't gain for a while.
All in all he's a nice puppy, I'm comfortable with the choice and have named him Lincoln.

Really glad to hear that you are having a good experience and are not regretting your decision. I know the stress one can go through trying to find a kennel, a littler or a young dog to make part of your life

Wow! That´s a lot of dogs...

RPD 3? - Executive level protection dog? - Really?
For me they look like dog brokers first and foremost, not like real breeders. Even most of the so called "Executive and so on" dogs are mostly imported green dogs.

I do have major ethical problems with a "kennel" of this size, but the dogs in the clips at least look healthy, the facility looks good, and they have some good ideas about foundation work.

I´d really like to visit this facility. Franki, are you able to visit them, or has anybody else been there? I´d like to know if there is a difference between the pics and reality.

LincolnThank you. It was agonizing. A pretty high drive Romanian import Doberman. More cats than I care to admit to and 3 pet geese, one of which will be 22 yrs. old in the Spring. Everyone's well being comes first. He is out of Brando Von der Lorsdshaft x Targa Aritar Bastet. He has some big paws to fill as many probably feel about their own, My Solomon was the best boy ever. I have raised and shown Dobermans since 76 and I kid that Solomon was the 35 year old answer to what could possibly be better than a Doberman.
