Ps. ad blockers are ruining the ability of small websites to run. why should a website owner run a website and 1000s a month if there is no revenue?

they get gobbled up by big corporations that run their own ad agencies that bypass aD blockers.

such as the premium listings here. I bet your ad blocker doesn't touch those.

The fake flash player thing I usually see when someone has a browser that already has adware type add-ons installed (search bars, shopping/coupon add-ins, etc) or the person has installed freeware that is too good to be true (bundled with adware or other malware) so like Oli said it's possible it has nothing to do with this site or the embedded ads, but is really a problem with the user's browser.

I have never seen it on this site and I am here daily. Malware bytes premium is a much better alternative than ad block IMHO.

I knew right away when I clicked it that it was a mistake.  But it was late and I was tired, and Windows had been telling me I needed to install an update and I kept putting it off so when it popped up I was irritated and clicked on it.  Oops!

Anyway, the ONLY website it ever popped up on was this one.  And I am now using a computer of a family member, who has never visited this website before, and it pops up here all the time.  Never on any other websites.  Also saw it on a public computer that I used.  I'm not clicking on any advertisements, it came up when I tried to check my inbox, and when I clicked on a dog's name to see their pedigree, or when I tried to go to the next page in the forums or classified ads.

Sorry

I did not see which add was up when it occurred, but I have noticed a black box with a circling icon in the middle appear on the dame day/hour that the virus ad appears.

I'm the same as Summertime. It only shows up for me on this website when I'm going from one page to another.

Don't know if this is related but I've walked away from my computer with a still add (just left of the premium ads bar) and come back into the room to broken voices and a video or ad trying to play/load in the space where the still ad was.

Malware bytes because we can't recreate it. I have tried on 3 computers.

malwarebytes will stop your computer from acsessing those sites. I go to tons of streaming sites and see this sometimes but even when I click on it malwarebytes will stop me from going to that site.

It happens to me almost every night on this site... Next time it happens I will take a picture of it with my digital camera and forward it to one of the Admins.... That way you can see what we are all talking about.. At least I am not the only one that this happens to all the time. At first I thought it was my computer or that I was going bat s#&t crazy....lol.

If it happens again and I am able to take a digital picture of the ad with my digital camera, which Admin should I PM the picture to? Or should I post it on this thread?

I've seen it a bunch too; I have been ignoring it but my computer has been really screwy the past few days and my son plays on it A LOT...I wonder if he accidentally clicked it and this is where my problems are coming from.

Lies, what will you charge me to tell me how to get rid of it? Shades Smile

Agree, buy Malwarebytes. I was having all sorts of issues before I downloaded and ran that program. Not only here. Now everything is good.

I can and have cleaned computers with remote management tools. I have actually cleaned 2 members computers this way and countless relatives and friends.

Also, a very good site if you are having serious problems is bleepingcomputer.com  their experts can walk you through all kinds of issues and it is free.

These are mandatory IMHO for all computers connected to the web.

A virus and firewall. I use zonealarm.com

A malware program. I use the premium version of malwarebytes.com  make sure you turn on the malicious website protection

Possibly a spyware program. I use superantispyware.com

I use the schedule option on these programs to set up the scans to run everyday.

I would like to see screenshots of these ads because I cannot get them to show up on my computers. http://www.ehow.com/how_5101044_altprint-screen.html  once you alt + prtscrn click in the editor here and ctrl + v and it should paste the screen in the editor. You can PM it to me in the same way.

Never, never click an update that you find on a 3rd party website always use the developers website or auto updates.

If anyone would like help with the removal of nasties you can PM me and I will help all I can.
