moose, here's the problem as my small, but dangerous mind sees it. What do you want the dog for? Have the hips and elbows been done? If you want it for sport, what is you experience level? Why is the owner selling? What do you expect from the dog? Why were the scores low and what were they? Is the seller reputable? You are not just buying a dog. You are buying the seller and peace of mind. 11 years ago I bought a very nice, not great, Schutzhund I for $5,000.

Oh Yeah! Has the dog even attempted a Schutzhund 2?

summer56 my email is loudamoose@aol.com . you are welcome to contact me. spook101 I want the dog for SchH work, hip score is A1, elbows not sure on. My experience level is not cream of the crop but have had the pleasure of owning many time SchH III. Owner claims selling dog as has too many dogs to work, 4 dogs. Do not know why scores were low, range of 72. seller is somewhat new to sport/breeding. spook - $5000 for a SchH I 11 years ago...lines must have been real good, was dog breed surveyed and AD?
