Also please keep a track of his offsprings. If you could present them in the progeny groups your dog's chances of acheiving a VA will surely increase.

Can nobody else help Ibrahim, really???

I sure would love to weigh in, but black and red fancy dogs are not my area of expertise.

Jenni78 you're right, I would also expect for more replies if anyone of us is asking for people's opinion.

though as you are into this breed (black ones from what I saw) I guess that you could also try to express some kind of an opinion regardless of the colors,

there's still the movement and the whole angulation thing Wondering

I can't ever recall seeing a modern German showline dog show a moment of suspension (all 4 feet off the ground) at the trot!  In order for that to happen, the dog must have good balance between the fore and hind leg angulation, as well as powerful thrust with the hind, and must move with the proper sequence of footfalls (diagonal legs moving in synchronization.)

As per that still photo, he extends very nicely both with both the hind and the forelegs. Very nice gaiting, indeed, judging from the photo. I really wish I could see the video, though, to make a more informed judgement!

I took a better look at his photo on the database, and his upper arm is slightly steep in relation to his hind angulation. Given what I see in the photo, I would not expect him to move as well as he does in that still photo.

I was able to view the video, but it is extremely hard to tell anything from it, as for most of it, you only see the dog's front end or rear end, and can tell very little about his movement. :(  The person holding the camera needs to follow the dog so we can see a side view. Also, if it could be filmed in slow motion, that would be even better!

Hi,

From your video, I noted that at a certain point, your dog was crabing. this was probabally due to the position of the double handler, who should have been  in the opposite side of the ring.

a) Train your dog to respond to a whistle.-

b) The communication between handler and double handler must be clearly understood by each other.( when to attract and when not to attract.)   Using hand signals.

c)The position of the double handler-The Double Handler must always maintain a strait line, A-----B-----C.( A-being the Double Handler ,B being the Judge,  C being the Dog )

The double handler should only run approx. a  1/3 -1/2 the show ring. Starting from the top of the strait,to the left of the judge, round the curve , down the strait behind the judge, until the dog is behind the judge. The double handler then stops attracting(allowing the dog to relax) makes a u-turn and goes back to the starting point. Then repeats the routine, while watching the judge and handler till the class is over.

d)The giving or letting of the leash.- When in front of the judge and you want the dog to move.

e)The handler must keep one eye on the judge at all times and the other on his dog.

1) To move forward 1 or 2 places as indicated by the judge immeadiately.

2)To signal the Double Handler to attract or stop attracting.

3) The Handler must know when to pull in the dog , keep it on a short leash/relax.( when he is behind the judge )and when he comes into the vison of the judge, the handler signals the double handler to attract the dog and when the dog starts to be attracted,.  the handler thightens the leash a little bit,for the dog to start pulling and moving forward. He then lets the leash flow through his hands and moves with the dog without impeading the movement.

Hope this  helps

.
