joanro, the agouti Sibes very often have the black mask and many of them look quite similar to sable GSDs. Occurs primarily in the racing bloodlines, as does the smaller [45#] size.

That's his natural coat. He needs a good raking out in the hindquarters after his bath, but I don't want to do that till the neuter site he got yesterday heals a bit.

Like Dawulf I first thought I saw Akita-mix, but then thought
'too small'. I'd go with Psycht on Elkhound, best guess.

Akita/GSD mix? Nice looking dog!

I've groomed a few elk hounds and he doesn't resemble that at all to me. And he doesn't look like any akita i've ever seen either. But he sure has some sort of spitz in him. Interesting.
Joanro, your a lucky dog if you have a shiba that's easy to train. i find them about as trainable as Basenjis.

Basenjis make a shit load of noises just not a barking sound. But that yodel is horrible! And they can scream like a little girl. Plus they act like cats. Who wants a dog that thinks you suck? Just get a cat.
No really they are nifty little dog but they are too primitive for my taste.
I think they are cool at someone else's house.

Funny you say that about dog breeds who act like cats. My sister's Shibu Inu, we swear was nocturnal. Spent the days under the kid's bed, and would only come out at night. Not my kind of dog either!

Sort of looks keeshond w/o the coat, maybe keeshond/akita, or keeshond/elkhound.
