Trailrider

I found this at Jeffers... it is Parvo only. http://www.jefferspet.com/ssc/product.asp?CID=0&mscssid=VSE4Q2K0G74L9JVBE68WAF55UC8B8474 I asked if they have distemper only on their live chat but they said not at this time. You might call some vets in your area to see if they do carry single doses because some dogs do have a reaction to the combo shots so they must be able to offer alternatives like in my friends case.

Found this for distemper but it comes in 25 doses, maybe you can call to see if you can get just a single dose. Most likely it is geared for breeders or vets. http://www.dogcatetc.com/003slv02-1-25.html

Okay, before I bought her (night before thanksgiving) I had set up an appointment for her with my veterinarian, then I bought the shots...so basically, I am ONLY going in for an over all check up, no vaccines, is there anything I should ask for, specifically? I always take in a stool sample usually collected about an hour before the appointment, and have them check for worms, ect...I just dewormed her, and the breeder did twice as well, she SHOULDN'T have any, but if she does, I guess we'll have THEM deworm her, if she has them, its obvious Nemex and Strongid don't work...or we may be misdoseing her. I give one cc per every 10lbs of body weight, because she was so small, and probably weighed around 6-8 lbs, I rounded up and gave her 1 cc, just incase.

I had picked the name Danica, but it doesn't fit her, she doesn't look like a Danica, she looks (and bites!) like a Draca! She's a crazy biter, full mouth bites, very concentrated, very focused, and she has tremendous prey and defence drive. I am hoping she'll be good for Personal Protection, but we can only hope! :)

I find dogs usually become the names we give them, so think wisely Krista. Example---I had an extremely brave and wonderful GSD in my late teens, early 20's who heroically dealt with epilepsy for 6 1/2 years. His name was Valiant. My mother had a toy poodle a few years back, which she named Petey. Never understood why she wanted a poodle--but alas...he was no different than any other toy dog I've encountered. Can you guess his eccentricity? Anyway, I'm glad he didn't live with me. As to going to the vet again with the puppy. Don't laugh, Krista. I'd completely wrap that puppy in a blanket, and cover even his head. I'd bring a disenfectant spray with me also. You know how they always usher you into an examining room and make you wait a few minutes for the vet. I'd spray everything and clean any place he will put the puppy (the exam table, weighing scale, etc.) The pups not fully protected yet, and where can you find more disease than an animal hospital. Once, they caught me. I laughed, and said--Sorry, I can't help it.
