Don't know thank goodness but a friend found a dead "mangy" fox she said on her farm and her dogs ended up with mange. Again, don't know and our dogs don't run loose.

Thank you everyone for responding.  I haven't seen any squirrels for almost two days, but I have seen a Cooper's hawk, so I am hoping the hawk took care of the squirrels.  If I see them though I think I will call an animal rescue/control.  And my dogs and I have been burning off are our extra energy by taking long walks.  Everyone is much calmer.

@ Two Moons, I called it an epidemic because it seemed to be spreading alarmingly fast amongst the squirrels.

I've seen an outbreak of Scabies mange in squirrels in my area. I took one i shot to my vet and they confirmed it was mange. (the squirrel was in very bad shape and soon to die so i didn't let it suffer) Mange can spread to dogs but Ivermectin or Promeris will clear it right up.
I'm sure Ester C will prevent scurvy, not sure about scabies.
Hope the problems clears up fast of get a BB gun.
