LMAO Chaz

Belschikson,
At 9, you may just want to get that collecting done ASAP.
You can however get his hips etc done too, although a
working title may be out of his ability, depending on how he
has aged etc.

I have to agree w/ workingdogz--you mentioned his hip & elbow x-rays were good, but if they weren't submitted to OFA for a rating, it would be a good idea to reshoot the films and get the certifications now (they take the dog's age into account when they read the films, so don't worry about that), and get him collected soon. As for titling him at 9 years old, that might be asking a bit much of a senior dog, though he could likely do a BH easily enough...don't know that I'd start asking a senior dog to start doing the wall jump at this point in his life, though. especially if there isn't any SchH activity in your area.

You mention doing bitework with him, though...maybe you could touch base with a trainer or helper who has a strong reputation in the sport world, and have them work him a bit so you can get videotape of his work?  Titles aren't the be-all and end-all (though they can be helpful in getting an idea of what a dog's capable of), but anyone thinking about choosing a stud dog is going to at least want to see some evidence that the dog can do the work...even if it's just on video.

Okay... thanks everyone... will follow your advice and get all this done !

Hexe,  I will try to re-fresh his training and do the video as you suggested... but I do have some photos I can locate and post of bite work from the age of 2   Thanks again

Don't even bother if you don't get him certified with DM clearance, no one will want to use him in the US;  all US breeders are trying to get ALL of their dogs DM cerf'd;  very very important to the GSD health.

collecting a 9 year old dog is like collecting my old man... that stuff ain't going to swim in the frigid waters:)

post the pedigree, lets see the mother side. any serious breeder who might want the belschik blood from an unititled unproven old man dog will take heavy value in the mother line

i don't know what the dog's name is or if he is found here on pdb, but............

i just love this pedigree!  i can certainly forgive the lack of titles if the dog
proves to be viable and the hips check out.

Fenrir

I know a guy in my club that would give it a serious look, do we have an official Pedigree on this guy? Belshik is awesome, I would certainly collect ASAP though if you are thinking about this

Well, hell, Belshikson1, why didn't you mention your dog's dam is Hex von Willowind?  If I recall correctly, Hex is a littermate to Lori Cruser's Willowind Sheeba, and I believe Sheeba earned a *lot* of respect on the trial fields when she was competing in the early 2000's. I think she also did a pretty good job in the whelping box later on, too.  Yeah, I'd have to agree with ziegenfarm, if this male's health clearances are good and he's got a good sperm count, one could do far worse than by gambling on than this one...
