I totally agree with you.....

In regards to breeders and the dog world, a breeder who prices their pups according to what the buyer will pay for them and not what they are actually worth, Is VERY UNETHICAL.......Being an ethical breeder doesn't end with the planning, breeding and care of the pups....It goes way beyond that, and also includes the sales, pricing,and finding the right owners for the puppies....JMO

How is that wrong?  If someone is willing to pay large sums of money for something and a seller is willing to sell it to them what business is it of yours?

If you don't like it, don't buy from them....easy as that.  Seller can't get paid unless the buyer finds nothing wrong with paying that price.

Look I have purchased a dog for 300 bucks.. great booldlines, great dog, fantastic animal all around. I have purchased a dog for 600 bucks. the same results, nice, nice dog. No garbage, good hips, great drives.

I have seen 2000 dollars dogs I would not want for free and I have seen 1500 dollars dogs that were outstanding animals.

It is all about who you know, what you want and how much you're willing to pay.
I don't know you and I would not sell you a puppy for the price I would (cover my cost sell) a puppy to somebod I know personally, somebody I know will train the dog unless a brick falls on their heads. Hell  I give some people my dogs for free, I even donate my puppies to service dogs. But if  they don't work out I want them back so I can find them a good family.

you all seem to be fixated on titles that has no bearing for the most part on the dogs or their prodgeny to work. i have seen prodgeny from highley titled sire and dam that  would never male a working dog. working dog is what the gsd was meant to be. these roach back ,saddle back dogs are definetly not working dogs.as to the prices of prodgeny from thes pairs that are not carrying titles, first look into what they are doing and have produced in the past. then you will see where the price comes from. most ,like myself don't breed but 2 or 3 litters a year and the care and work that goes into them before they leave is a lot.

That reminds me of a old boy when i lived in Arkansas. He had some hounds and wanted to sell one. He ran a add in the paper describing the dog and was asking a 100.00 for the dog, he got no response. Later he put a add in with the same discription, he priced him for 500.00 and sold him in less than a week. I asked him, I thought you only had one dog forsale and he said he did, it was the same dog . I don't know how anyone could not believe a dogs worth is only based on what someone is willing to pay.You know the old saying, " One Mans Junk Is Another Mans Treasure.

Man, when I was reading some of these threads last night I was going to comment all night. But decided against that. I was in a "foul" mood because I just got done watching "Hachi" but I'm amazed at some of the threads. Maybe some have too much time on their hands or just want to pick peoples' brains. But to talk hypotheticals and experiences that would/could never happen. I'm lost. And then someone asks" do you think this dog would make a good patrol dog?" We never seen the dog, don't know the dog and how are the hypothetical questions going to help especially if the op doesn't even have a dog?

But for prices? Why would anyone buy that 32 valve gas guzzling import, that can top out at 210 mph, which they'll never drive at that speed, and they paid $100,000.00 for???

Because they can, (and some can't). To show someone something? To prove to someone? Maybe themselves? To keep up or try to keep up with the Joneses? To impress someone. Maybe a dream? A nightmare? It could be one of a million reasons, one we might never ever know?
