I think that saying a pup has to remain with their mother and litter mates till 8 weeks is a bunch of hogwash. First of all no puppies or VERY few are even with the mother after 6 weeks.
No law here, thank goodness.
I still have yet to figure out why it is so detrimental? I've gotten two of my pups at 6 weeks, one earlier as his mother died, and had NO dog aggression problems or any other problems.
I'd much rather have a pup with me learning and socializing than sitting in a kennel.
The pup I got at 5.5 weeks was the best dog I've had to date.
Interesting article PL, in it they even say it can be more detrimental to a pup to be kept with the litter after 7 weeks.
We've had this discussion before, and I'll never agree with the 'till 8 weeks' crowd. I've always heard from 6-8 weeks, and I agree with that. Seven being optimal.

That is a rule here also and the airlines will not ship them.. You know this before you try to ship and the vets all know that is also the rule for shipping a pup....
