There are tons of scams out there...I have gotten several emails regarding a dog I have for sale...Funny thing is I have no dogs for sale, and never have!

I do have, in my possession, a check in the amount of $4,975, a downpayment on my winnings in a North American/European lottery...I only have to deposit the check and send them $2800 to pay the taxes and they will release the rest of my $250,000...

Yes, and the balance on that check will buy me the Brooklyn Bridge, AND the Golden Gate...plus have them installed in the middle of Nevada....*Sarasm intended*

Sadly, nona, you'd be amazed at just how many people actually think these things are real and fall into them.  My bank told me that many people deposit the checks and then take the hit when it bounces.

I try to help people plce dogs in good homes if the animal needs to be re-homed and charge no fee. I have been approached by too many people who want to get the dog at the lowest price so they can re-sell it for a profit. You can't 100% weed them out.

Jeez. It's not like a dog is a piece of furniture. (Please save the criticism of people who need to re-home dogs. Not all of them could predict losing their jobs and having to move where they could not bring their dog with them.) At least they did not abandon the animal to die, and I'm sure they would not want to see a beloved pet being treated like merchandise by people, even if they are down on their luck, just need to make an easy buck.

But seeing so many scammers on this PDB makes me think that these people are crap. I might post a dog for someone once in a while but all the dogs I've seen placed did not go to anyone through this PDB, and that's sad.

Wise Guy,
I agree with you, Thats why I would never advertise anything we may have available on this database...There are many good people here with good intentions, but I think the number of those with bad intentions out number the good ones....Although we do not breed very often, 3 litters in 13yrs, I have had my share of bad experiences from advertising, all of them previous 1997.  If at all possible, I avoid advertising at all.....The three most recent litters we had were all sold on  references....I think there were two puppies that were sold by advertisement....

You would be surprised how many little breeders who these  wormy scammers get their email addys and they are older people who do not know much of the NOW  experiences, who actually deposit these fake checks and do not take them to an officer of bank...and send checks back to the p.o. box or address give..

I know of one , down south of Houston ,,,Lake Jackson area who believed it was REAL...THey advertised in the Houston Chronicle and the larger papers are usually where they find kennel names and addresses and they send to every advertisement in hopes.

Just like the DATING SCAMMERS>>>    SUCKERS born every second..........

I also have encountered this Jeny Rolland when selling my maltese puppies, she answered a newspaper ad and I have had the same kind of dealings with her as you have. She will not give any information. I have told her the puppy will not be delivered until the check clears so maybe I will not hear from her again. I thought what she was telling me sounded fishy and she couldn't write a complete sentence in a normal way, and said there would be some questions for me as to getting the puppy to its final destination, when I had already asked when she would be picking it up if she purchased it. I told  her I do not ship. I decided to google her when I found this forum. thank you.

That has scam written all over it but it doesn't mean I write off the PDB.

I found my puppy's breeder here and I got a great dog from an honest person at a fair price.
