I would suggest contacting Koos and asking him about it he would be the logical choise of people to ask. I,ve always found Koos to be very willing to share his thoughts and explain things.

Good idea, Bob, but what if Koos is eating when you call? I mean, I hate be interrupted with a phone call while eating, but it looks like ya might be missing an ear after that call!

I certainly wouldn't encourage this behavior in my dogs, but I don't think he's trying to "teach" food drive or possesiveness.  I think it's more to show, that even while being flanked and messed with, they just wanna eat.  They already have the drive.  Just my take, i see it more as demonstration of what's there, not as "teaching".

This really has nothing to do with food drive.. It is a guarding problem...almost seems as if was a taught behavior like the KNPV box guarding. Also I have know a lot of thin dogs in Europe especially when they are teaching tracking LOL and it can come from just plain hunger and dogs instincts take over and as they get older, even when they are getting enough food this behavior can be present....He also was flanking the one dog ..not very impressive to say the least... most of his dogs have so much over the top drive anyway

I have to say I am at a loss for words on this one, and that never happens to me LOL! I have no clue why they would do this, it makes NO SENSE!

Hmm, what I find RICH, it Timothy Helser's comment on youtube about the video. Oh Lordy, little Timothy lost respect for Koos. I think I shall jump on that bandwagon...NOT!

I agree, ask Koos himself, what he is trying to show/prove with this. For the most part, all I see are noobs posting and you all know... maybe how to hold a leash. Even that is questionable.

I myself wont question the man, who has been breeding fine dogs for more years than I have been alive. I don't care how he assesses his dogs. All I know is he knows his dogs, his lines and how to match 2 dogs together to get great puppies.

Thanks guys.  I've been in Indiana and also going back and forth to other states to weddings and other events so I haven't had much time to check this.  I'll shoot Koos an email about it.  I've talked to him before, just never about that.   My boy Anubis looks like and reminds me of Max,   regardless I couldn't see making him do something like that.  I guess Koos doesn't have children around his dogs.

Sam I'll do an email and save myself the ear.
