I would say that these hips should score "a" Normal without any problems. They may even achieve "Good" if they were rated by the O.F.A.. Let us know what the S.V. says.

Good Luck!

As for the elbows you need to send only 1 view and that is 45 degrees flexed mediolateral view ,the extended view is not required by SV ,OFA needs flexed 45 degrees/90 degrees and the extended view for evaluation.I cannot see here the flexed 45degree ML view for the left so I will opine on right only,The right elbow is fantastic sure A-normal.

Yes the left elbow is missing,  for some reason i  cannot bring it up, However the Vet is the one who sends the official X-rays to the SV we do not do that ourselves,
He had those already in a sealed envelope with the DNA samples ready to go before i left his practice in Holland
Many German G.S owners go to this same Vet in Holland he is less costly than Germany and is excellent at what he does and the best thing is you can watch him working  from the time you walk the dog in to the finish of him doing the X-rays and you taking the Dog out
The cost overall in USA dollars for the X-rays and DNA  was $195
For the results from the SV for the Joints Hips , Elbows and DNA will be another $190,so around 385 USA dollars all in
How does that  compare to the same being done in the USA

Steve, the U.S.A. cost you mentioned would be the norm if one used the veterinarian's services frequently. I've done it for about $100.00/dog, but one has to remember that I sometimes took as many as three (3) dogs at a time for the evaluation. The veterinarian allowed me to assist and would make the radiograph upon my mark. It was a very good relationship that I no longer have..I would say that it would easily cost me $200.00 per dog to do it now.

Again, congratulations to you as I feel that you will have a successful result.

Best Regards,

I see that I forgot to add the price for reading the radiographs and recording the DNA sample. The O.F.A. fee for hips and elbows is about $70.00, and the DNA swab check and certification is about $15.00 (using O.F.A.) to $35.00 (using A.K.C.). So, there is not much of a difference for the price you paid compared to what one would pay here when everything is included. Knowning the high price of just about everything in Europe (compared to the U.S.A.) it sounds as if you received a very fair deal.

Yes, i think the price is fair over here, If the German Guys are going to him then he must be genuine in his prices, and he is not  happy until he is satisfied with the job he does on the X-Rays, and he will retake them if needed too
The Charges from the SV are normal so no one can change that anyway if they come back good then i am happy, It is the waiting which is not good
