That's what I got out of it, strong independent temperment, a great companion dog,( like mine.) Ears back does not necessarily have to do with a heavy hand, IMO. My dog does it all the time, and I assure you I am not heavy handed. He is intuitive, ie. an independant thinker. Absolutely a fantastic pet. Mine also was a leash puller at a younger age. We used a pinch collar to help with my kids safety and control on the roads. Now we can use a flat collar, no problem.

I am a pet person and would have been delighted with that trainer, if I had that dog.

People people - settle down now. I never intended to state that Josiah was heavy handed in anyway. If you went to his website and viewed more of the training videos, you would see what a great job he does. All I meant was that Beau was a strong willed dog who needed a firm, experienced trainer; and that is exactly what he got. I would not have been able to handle him without that training, and now I have a wonderful, loving companion.

Candle Hill Shepherds are expertly crafted by Elizabeth. They are remarkable dogs with high drive, trainability and fantastic temperments. I cannot say enough about these dogs - and yes, I have one. I also plan  to get another. Check the testimonials on her website, her clients love her and her dogs. I looked at and talked with a lot of breeders before I choose Candle Hill. What I liked about Elizabeth (and there were many things) is that she did not talk badly of any other breeders. So many I spoke with only bashed all the other breeders out there and their dogs. What this said to me is that there are a lot of "insecure" breeders out there who feel they have to impress you by talking badly of other dogs and breeders. There was never any pretense with Elizabeth. But you don't buy a dog based on someone's personality. The breed must stand on it's own. I cannot go anywhere with my dog without comments from someone. They are always truly impressed with her. I've taken her to waterparks, concerts, retail stores, caves, firework displays and on several road trips. She is the dog I always wanted!

,no you did not say anything wrong. You stated an opinion based on a PERSONAL knowledge of the dogs and the breeder. The original OP wanted input and you gave it..... the rest is up to the buyer..

The fact that everybody suddenty comming here and taking offence to somebody elses opinion, even creating a new thread..raises flags....

Nothing bad was written about this breeder and next thing happening is an army of upset people because somebody feels differently?

Pack

I wanted to add.. I dont see anything strong about that dog. This dog was either crushed in too much OB to soon or just a soft dog... either or, the dog doesn't look good in the video. All I see is aviodance and submisivity.
