LAVK-9

Thats cool yoshy. Sounds like he is a good dog.Yea might be a bit hard to do sar if you are doing PSA.I was worried about Dar being aggressive as I have done SchH and then went to personal protection(not competing)cause he was borde of the same thing with schH. I had a client of mine go hide and she had his toy.I told her as soon as he finds you(I was at the end of the leash anyway) give him his toy. That seemed to work out.I don't think he would do anything but if a dog that has done protection work gets startled by finding someone....ya never know. I wanted to do sar here cause they don't have dogs!!! There was a massive snow storm(not that bad compared to the east coast and the mid west but a bunch of hunters were trapped up in the mountains and out in the snow!! I know I would feel safer knowing a dog is searching for me then just people. Anyhoo....I'm blabbing lol

Dar my boy is from Dari at Van den Heuvel. He is on here search Dartanian ven den Heuvel

Well he has a very proud stead fast dimeanor ( i love) about him. He is very civil yet social. He still has some pup in him though. He adores children ( i have let my 7 year old girl tug with him as he has a gentle nature with her) but he is very concious of adults that make defensive movements. he hasnt learned his descrimination of threat behaviors yet.

However I do use him as im contracted by a company that finds lost pets and various stuff so he will be certified this spring and put in the field to take the place of my retired boy. he has a nack for it and is a natural. I started out his tracking in the fashion you just mentioned to get his enterest into it. i would run and let my gf hold him to track me down. them various family memebers and friends. he loved that. agitate him up run hide and let him role. Just to get him using his nose then johnson method method and so on.

he is out of kreative kennels in california.

i havent put yoshy up here yet as im awaiting his papers from akc. i was lazy and submited the papers late.

thats a good looking boy. I actually considered an orry / dixie son but decided to go with a green dog instead. They seem to produce some nice pups up there. I will def be conidering them in the future.

Thats a good looking boy you have. So what made you choose the sire and dam you did over the others? i havent met there dogs is my reason for asking.

Nice pedigrees on your boy. On the dams side it goes back to Grim zPS.Dar's dam is a daughter of Grim.So they are some what related.Like one of those 2nd cousins once removed.lol
I actually had a black GSD before I got Dar.He was hed out of the police program. He had a bit of an attitude. My boss ended up giving him to me.(I worked at a dog training facility) He was a great dog...for me.He would have died to save me or kill for me.(he is on here Etu von Kuhnhoff) I wanted a sable and started looking at breeders.I came across Jiri Novotny and saw the dogs he had Congo being one of them.I was in love.He is the head of the zPS kennels in Czech. He also has a manager out here in AZ.Hans from Alpine Safety K-9.SO I researched.I met Hans with Etu in 2000 but wan't able to get another dog at that time.Later I tracked down Congo as Jiri didn't have him anymore. Dari at van den Heuvel K-9 did.So I got in touch with her.I wanted a pup from Congo and this other female but I guess they had already done a breeding with another male and her.SO I told her what I was looking for in a dog and what I was going to do and let her pick the pup out.I usually don't do that but I had such a good feeling about her.I have to say Dari did a great job.Dar is what I want in drive and he was a bit of a challenge but I have learned from him as I have all the dogs I have trained. We have had our moments....times when I hated him cause he could be a jerk.We got through it though and he is a great dog.He is good with kids even though i don't have any but when my niece was 3 she could take him and do training with him.lol He isn't dog aggressive but if a dog goes for me or him he won't back down.He even went after a female I had cause she bit me out of displaced aggression towards her sister. I do like the other dogs that van den Heuvel has and in the future would like one from either Jiri,Hans,or Dari again. I am so excited to be able to meet Jiri Novotny cause he is coming out here this month. Dar is 6 now but still acts like a Scooby Doo.If your boy is anything like Dar he is going to be a puppy(energetic) for a long time!!
Have you ever had handler aggression with Yoshy? Dar messed with me when he was 9mo.He stopped for a long time after we had it out but has become a grouch sometimes and growls at me from time to time.I don't tolerate that though and I win in the end.

thanks for the compliments. however you asked about handler hardness from yosh. he doesnt give me any issues as far as handler hardness. he is a handler easy dog. not soft but easy. I need to get some better pictures of yosh. the one in my avatar was at about 14-15 months. He is a much more dense muscular dog now at 20 months. I hope i dont have the puppy til 6 haha. I cant wait for him to mature.

I wish I had the money to fly out and meet Jiri. I would love to pick his brain. Along with meeting some of the real PS dogs from the "old world" lines. I think there would be no better experience. I actually wrote Hans a PM earlier asking some questions about the preservation of the czech lines and what he feels seperates them from all others. as well if he had any back ground on the dogs in my boys pedigree as i selected him out of an all police litter for his qualities not necessarily his pedigree. No response. You can only read so much online without speaking to those who have worked with the dogs directly or seeing them work yourself you know.

I have a police washout as well. He is a good boy 80% 20% defense prey. He is my family/ home protection dog. So I have no worries or doubt about him in his duties. Soft with kids but hard as nails with anything else. He was my first german shepherd. He is pushing 8 now. He has no pedigree with him though. He is flawed as far as body size and breed standards but a great dog none the less. 98lbs at working weight/ grey sable.

I'm surprised that Hans hasn't got back to you.He is a super nice guy.Talked to him yesterday about Jiri coming over. Hans knows the dogs in Yoshy's pedigree I am sure!! If there is anyone that could tell you about them it would be him or Jiri. I know what you mean about needing to see the dog work for yourself.People can see things differently then how they are.I can assure you though that Hans would tell you like it is and wouldn't tell you something if he didn't know. That is one of the reasons I trust him and what he says. If there are any questions you have for Jiri you can email it to me and i will ask him for you and write things down.I could even take note about the dogs in Yoshy's pedigree. Some are in Dar's anyway so I will be asking about them as well. I am going to take pictures as well. I would like to get another Czech dog. This time I think I will get it from Hans or Jiri directly.I have a friend that has been to Jinapo Kennels in Czech. I would love to go there but since Jiri is coming here I am going to take advantage of seeing him.Who knows if I would ever get over seas!!
I would like to see more pictures of Yoshy.I have noticed that sables change so much in color.

would love to see the photos you take when you head out to meet jiri and the dogs. So much more to dogs than stack poses.

I will have to formulate a list of questions for you. thats is also very appreciated.

You can email me at wolfpak583@aol.com Jiri is coming out the 15th if I remember what Hans said.I am going to see if i could meet up with him before the group gathering.I always like some alone time to ask things and see what dogs Hans has here and what he thinks of my goof ball of a dog.lol  The seminar/get together is the weekend of the 23rd.So there is some time to get some questions set up.There is a thread in the topics about czech and mixed czech.Hans makes some valuable points. He is very good at explaining things. There might be something in that thread that might make you think of a question.Maybe then Hans would answer it.

OH lol.Maybe he rather answer a question publicly. That way others can learn too. See what happens if you ask it on there instead of PM.
