Very nice puppy! Your kids are going to be ecstatic... Sorry for the loss of your Lab. That  pup is too precious, he should bring a little extra sunshine into your life :) Have you named him yet?

great looking pup...love the pedigree !!!! some advice ? give your pup time to adjust,if he wants to play hard, then let him do so for a short time, crate him in a moderately active room in your house, give him water, but i never feed pups the first night, offer 1/2 to 1/3 portion the next morning of familiar food, after that you can go back to full portians, take him out on lead to eliminate and praise greatly when he "goes".then right back inside...do not try and overfeed your pup..you can "stunt" natural growth with poor quaility food or not enough food, but you'll never feed a pup past his genetic potential !!!don't be surprized if he has a less than solid stool, feed what the breeder recommends until the pup has adjusted to his new environment, then if you wish, you can switch to the feed of your choice over the course of 5-7 days.be ready for the questions....."WHAT'S HE MIXED WITH????"",I THOUGHT GERMAN SHEPHERDS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE BLK/BRN"(DUUUUHH).pups and kids can be a great combination, but someone has to step up and properly train the dog...that job,"MR. REDLEGS" will probably be yours!!!!! also be advised that working pups can be real buttheads, ankles, socks, shoe strings, dirty underware are all fair game to a pup....if he's to be a house dog, then his freedom should be limited to supervised time out of the crate only....puppies tend to get themselves into trouble very quickly....good luck and enjoy your new pup!!!!!

Stacy, my wife really likes the name Jake.  I like Sully, but i got to pick out our last car so she gets to name him Jake.

vom ost see: thanks for the advise, ive got to go by my friends kennel and pick up some frozen food for him (???) he also told me what kind of food to feed him.  im not looking forward to those needle teeth that puppys have.  strangers may confuse me to a drug attict from all the scratches that will be on my arms.  and im taking next week off from work to do some bonding/house breaking.   i'll be sure to post some updates.

Red Leg...I love cars but I love dogs more... I'd rather get to name the pup. Jake is a nice strong name ...

the new pup has been great so far. he is very loving and fun to be with. i'm looking forward to tomorrow, he is going to start doing some protection work. one concern that i have with him is that he does the "Happy Pee" or submissive pee which ive read is common with young dogs. the other concern is that he dosent like going for walks, he loves to run in the back yard, but take him out of the back yard and he wont budge. ive tried to lure him with food, but still nothing. i plan on giving him some time for this, my old lab did the same thing when he was a puppy.
