So sorry to hear of this tragic loss.  I know that the people who loved this wonderful dog have aching hearts.  Hope everyone knows they are not alone in their pain and their good friend might still comfort them in some way, though not physically present.

Heartfelt best to everyone.

So very sorry for the loss of a great dog.  How awful and how sad!  Absolutely heart rending.  Please know there are many here feeling your pain.  I wish I could lessen it.  I am truly sorry for all involved.  My own heart is breaking at the mere thought of it all.

So sorry for all of your loss of this special boy. You truly never know what tomorrow will bring. Our dogs are so wonderful for always letting us know how they feel, I guess that's why they hold such a big part of our hearts. I'm gonna go hug all my special folks right now, both 2 & 4 footed! Sincerest condolences! jackie harris

Thanks everyone
His owner is the one that is not dealing good with this...He has had three gsd and raised them all to 14 yrs old..Montei was a picture of health and not a bad day . He has not decided on the new pup as of yet..having a hard time blaming himself and wondering can he handle a new pup and not let anything happen..He is in his late 60's and his wife and he always depend on a german for their safety and both of their companionship..THe grand kids want him to get this puppy but it is gonna be his decision.

The daughter said she will buy it for him if he doesnt..she wants him to have a new love as his german shepherd was his constant real assuridity in every day life besides his family..

Another deep breathe today....
I didn't sleep much last night even as tired as I was, I just kept thinking of water, pond, snake, pain, and  tears and more tears.
And some of you want to be a breeder????????
