Rik

Rebel, where in my post did I appear to be squirming. The illustrated dog, which is the one under discussion, shows a very excellent front and rear and very extended side gait.

Any deviation from the standard should be considered as "wrong". Would I pick a dog of this type over one with a very short upper arm, or a rear that sits higher than it's whither, or how about one of those 3 inch 45 degree croups. You bet I would.

As stated above, there are no perfect dogs.

SitasMom, the dog you picture is pushing hard with his rear while being restricted in forward motion by a tight leash. This forces his back to curve probably more than normal. Just from the pic, I think he is a nice dog.

YMMV,

Sitasmom,  Nike-Clayfield Andretti!  he was a moving machine.  unfortunately he is also the main reason for DNA with AKC now too.

Looks good to me!  But then, my little girl has a bit of roach to her back.  I like this long stretched out action...this dog is on the move!  Is it a good dog by the standard?

Uberland,

What DNA testing?  Please explain what was unfortunate about his line?

DNA testing for parental proof, or for genetic issues?

There was a litter that was supposed to have been sired by Andretti, that turned out to be sired by his son. Of all the testing done on Andretti progeny, I think this was the only litter found.

Andretti was one of the better Am. S/L. Very good character and good record for H&E.

Rik

Sitasmom, I saw Andretti very early in his career (futurity/maturity in B'ham Al.) and always liked him. His back was not his strongest point.

What else you got.
