Hi Vikram,

There is no online version, at least not that I know of.   Members of Schutzhund U.S.A. get the magazine 6 times per year.

YR, that was the only article on me and Boomer in USA i s in this issue: May/June 2009.   Yvette mentioned writing another article for a different magazine, but I don't know which issue.  Well, when you get your stack of magazines you'll have a lot of reading.

LDD it is SCHUTZHUND USA's magazine.  It is the bi-monthly magazine sent out to members of the United Schutzhund Club  America, hence USA.

There really needs to be an editor for the whole magazine. That way they can make sure that there are no conflicting statements in the magazine. In the article about what the judges are looking for in each phase, the judge states the common errors that are made by handlers. He states that one of the common mistakes that is made in tracking is that the the line is under the dogs leg when reporting in. Then in the article about the judges meeting it states that it is OK to report in with your dog ready or to ready the dog outside the 2meter distance.

It might help if they'd leave the rules alone. There really is no reason that the some rule has to be changed each and every year.

I have to say I give props to Nate Harves for being out there trialing his dogs as well as taking on the assistant Reg. Director possition. As for his latest article. I was wondering if USA just needed pages filled? 4 pages going on about reading the dog. It really gave no insite other than the helper needs to be able to read a dogs reaction so that he can get the dog to work at it's best. Could have wrapped that entire article up in 2 paragraphs.

" I was wondering if USA just needed pages filled? 4 pages going on about reading the dog. It really gave no insite other than the helper needs to be able to read a dogs reaction so that he can get the dog to work at it's best."  -- You are partialy correct and partialy wrong with "no real insight".

The article was good, in a sense that gave a basic overview on what is going on and giving a few opinions. He cannot give insight over paper with a few photographs and talking about it, so you kind of "imagine it" in your head and visualize while reading an article in a magazine.

To "trully" and really read dogs you have to be out there, in the field watching intently and noticing different things, asking questions about what you are seeing etc... This is one of those things that is done  best - hands on. It also takes time and an inquisitive mind to be good at it, no shortcuts and cheat sheets.

First off the magazine does  have an editor for the whole magazine  We are always looking for submissions.  We value information brought in from different sources and we are a small bunch of volunteers.  We do  the best we can helping out our organization.

It is very difficult to get people to volunteer their time to write a singular article let alone writing multiple article or getting them formatted or providing pictures or whatever

I salute Nate for his submission.  I think it was a good article

If you think you can do  better I  challenge you to do so.

Not everyone will agree with every article but we do the best that we can and hope that it is appreciated

I am just now getting time to start reading through it.  My thanks to the people who take the time to submit the articles.

So which is correct?
