Not East. West, perhaps. Hard to say. Mixes of different lines can end up looking very different from one another.

Coloring and structure looks like my pet male, who is a mix of lines: west german (Fritz von Schulz), showline (several Aggripina), american and even whites. She has the typical appearance for this mix, IMO. Wide-set ears, straight back, flat whiters, steep upper arm and flat pads with so called hare-feet. This is by no means ment as offense. As Hodie said, you love her and that is all what matters :)

Thanks for posting the links/pictures of her. It sure makes it easier, but I had no idea how to post them. It is interesting to see the different views of what she might be. But I see there is no consensus really. It doesn't matter at all to me really, but I was just interested to see what people thought, so thanks for the replies. To those who asked for more info, she is 3 years old (but I have not as yet weighed or measured her height), acquired from Europe (probably germany as she understands the german commands), she is a failed police dog I rehomed. No matter what she is she is happy in her forever home, and really that is all that counts. If anyone else has any views on her lines though, I would still love to hear them :)

She strikes me as Slovakian, coming from DDR working lines, mixed with other Eastern European dogs, possibly Czech.

But something about her face reminds me of some of the earlier east german sable litters brought to the US around 1980.
So I would say Slovakian or Czech or both through DDR.

And nice!

You are all going on looks.  Can't East look like Czech & Czech look like East?  I've seen some Czech's have narrower faces.  But when E. is mixed with W. isn't it kind of hard to tell?  They all look so similar.  Unless you have the pedigree to say exactly what they are.

*chuckle*  I'll throw a thought in also... she looks very very much like my Gemini years ago.  Gemi was a daughter of Ch. Treffer of Clover Acres... linebred on Igor and on Paladen... from the Moderate side of the American Show lines back in the   80's.  I couldn't find a good picture of Treffer, but here's one of hissibling www.gsdca.org/GSDReviewed/mdogs/MatmarProCloverAcres.html . Gemi did have a rather "doggie" head... but I've always liked that about her. Her litter sister was more correct in conformation, but as Ken Raynor told me there was just something about Gem that kept bringing your eye back to her.  Hope she brings you all the joy that Gemini brought me...

One European dog with this look would be Hella vom Mutzback www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/126250.html  (dam of Paska vom Salztalblick www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/126254.html ).

Notice the markings on the tops of her toes????   Almost enough to make a guess.?

I've had a similar looking dog from Czech BYB lines. Remember not all Czech dogs that come into the U.S. are from their well known breeders, lots of farms out there in the Czech and Slovakian countryside breeding GSDs.
