I am SO sorry to hear that Emily. I have had both upper canines crowned on a great SchH3 female years ago. They only lasted about a year, but back then they did them in gold. The new methods are a lot more effective. I had to retire her when the crowns came off. Even though she had an awesome, hard, full-mouth grip for the first 6 years of her life, she couldn't hang on to the sleeve well enough without the missing canines.

Your dog can still get the Korung with a letter from your vet. Most Kormeisters will take the missing tooth into consideration in the bitewrok phase of the Korung.

Hi Emily,  I would go to a board certified dog dentist. Astra had a broken bottom canine before she came to me. I had to have it removed because it became non viable and was starting to abscess. Because it was a lower one it is very tricky because you can break the jaw. The dentist also used a matrix paste where the tooth was and on the jaw - this allowed for faster calcification of the area as it healed, cool stuff, it was a must because she was going to continue training after she healed. Having this tooth gone did not affect her in any way with her bites on the sleeve. I hope this helps
Always,
Cee

I have seen this numerous times over the years and it has not affected our police k9's bitework after having it removed. We have had departments replace with metal and they have always lost them in future bitework so when it happened to our competition male we just had them remove it. He has never shown any problems and nobody who has done decoy work work with him ever realized he was  missing a canine. It has not affected his grip, his pressure or any aspect of his bitework.  Larry
