You shouldn't give the dog frozen meat. Is it going to harm him? No!!!. Think about animals in the wild. Dog's are oportunistic animals they will eat many times whatever they can find including frozen animals. When starting feed less than recomended this will prevent loose stools, feed chicken and chicken bone's only at the beginning go as much as month before feeding anything else. Live should be from "natural" rase chicken or organic, keep in mind that liver is a filter so if the chiecken eats crap you will find it in the liver. Never use mic to defroste the meat, it will cook it! You don't have to warm the meat up will depend on a dog. Start introducing heart it's cheap and reach mussle. Heart is classified as mussle.

Also, your dog has to learn to eat bones. Start with necks or backs until he/she gets the idea of crunching everything up well. We occasionally get a deal on turkey necks by the 40# box at a meat processer here in OKC.  Call around to the places that process people's deer and home-raised cattle. You can get some good deals.

I switched my 9-week old puppy to raw; basically chicken drumsticks with stomachs and beef livers. The puppy loved them and would eat the whole drumstick including the bone. I didn’t feel easy watching her crunching the last bone, but there was no problem. Anyway, there was much less poop than usual, but the thing that bothered me, was the softness of the poop.  It wasn’t a diarrhea, as she only pooped twice a day, but it was very soft, liquid like. I went and talked to two different vets and their answer was, “duh, what do you expect?”  They both were against raw, ESPECIALLY CHICKEN. I then stopped feeding raw, and the poop became normal again.  I gave raw eggs for few days (including the shell), but then decided to boil them first.

How do you guys insure that your dogs won’t get Salmonella from raw chicken?
How do you also make sure that the dogs are getting balanced diet?

Dude dog won't get salmonella from a raw chicken dogs digestion track is too short, I feed old meat from time to time and no issue. Just like  you would do it for yourself. You surprise that you had soft stool lol you gave the dog liver lol organs should be given last and in minimal amounts lol is too rich!!! And your vet's are an idiots but that's common. lol Liver is too rich and should be given in moderation and never to a begginer. If you feed the whole chicken with bones and everything and no organs your dog will transition smoothly than add everything else (different meats) and finaly start slowly introducing organs I mean like very slowly

Dog are more likely to get salmonella from dry food than raw food!!! Dog's can eat few days old road kill that is going bad and never get sick and you worry about feeding freash chicken? Think dog is an oportunistic animal it can eat a lot of sh*t before gets sick.

BTW think that is all that you need to do. Most people make raw too complicated, it's not. You take a whole chicken out of fridge put it down for your dog let him eat it till you think he had enough take it back, and put it in the fridge for the next feeding that's all there is to it. Anything new get's introduce slowely and in small amounts till the system adjusts. Animals tend to be more sensetive to the organs so you go even slower with those. Join Yahoo Raw feeding group you will find a lot of people that been doing this for a long time and most of them you this simple approach don't get creative as much as we newbies do :)

It sounds like you maybe giveing him little bit too much. What would be his ideal weight at maturity? Than feed him 2% of that not more per day. Do not I repeat do not introduce organs till 4-6 weeks of feeding him Raw meats and bones with out anny issues, there is always time for organs remember raw is balance over time. If you do raw start with small amount I mean really small like 1/4 of liver once a week than increase it if the dog has no issues. Good luck
