so i read the post about how the zw score works but what does it start out at considering there is no offspring yet? 100?

No it is based on the dogs x-rays and the parents zw. I have a female that has not beeen bred till now and she has a 76 zw. now that could change depending on the puppies hips.

The way it was explained to me by the SV: IF the dog is born outside of Germany, and the hip x-ray films are sent to Germany for the "a" stamp, the HDZW is automatically set at 100, assuming the hips pass. :)
