Start your plans and go.  You may have to wait until the weather moderates a bit but use that time to plan.  You know enough people in various areas that can:

1. Help you find what could be "home"
2. Be layover stops on the way cross country.

So, pack up all the doggies and go home.  Time is to fast to be not happy where you are.  Believe me......

Good luck Shelley, I do mean that in the best way.

Tina

Merry Christmas to you and Uncle T.

I am just the same in one way

Born in London, England

moved to Berkshire.

then on to Shropshire

Back down to the west in Somerset

Then moved over to Belgium

Born with the gypsy blood in my veins i guess

Why did ya move there to begin with?  And why be somewhere you don't want to be?  Head back home where you know you belong and really want to be! : - }  You will know when the time is right........

I totally understand Shelley, except I was born in Michigan and want to move to warmer climate. I've actually been looking around too. I am so tired of the snow, ice rain, etc, etc!!!!

All you Guys who do not like the cold and rain, certainly the rain

Never move to the west side of England, certain parts of Scotland andcertainly not where i live in Limburg, Belgium, it rains and it rains, you can have the sun out and shining

Next minute you can have thunder storms and Lighning, no warning it just comes, and it comes down like stair rods

But when i think about it we are very lucky ,Beautifull Orchards in the Spring and not short of Water anytime

I AM home, ot just looks like somewhere else with all the snow. But, it is thawing out, now and soon we will be back to the usual Rain Festival that lasts from November to May. I LOVE the rain!! Love Rain!! Love Rain!! I left Minnesota so I would never have to see snow again! Winters of 40 degrees and rain are lovely, lovely! Shelley, By all means, go home, if that is what you want, but, also remember why you went to the East from California in the first place. If that reason no longer makes sense, go home! If it still makes sense, make peace with the cold. :-)

Bob, that was my thoughts exactly, so:

Shelley,

I do hope you get to go home. I have been far away from home before, AND until you get back to where home is, something WILL ALWAYS be missing. So start making your plans,Grit  Your Teeth, AND Show Determination. You will get there. I enclosed the above Ruby Slippers for you, When your Ready, Use UM!

I am currently in Ohio and I want to move somewhere that it does not snow and ice. I have to wait until my son graduates in 2010, though. That means enduring one more winter here, atleast. We have had alot of ice this year. I am very sick of it! I was thinking about Tulsa, OK. I have relatives there. I dont know really at this point where to go. My dogs, on the other hand. absolutely love the snow and colder weather. Go figure!!! Today we have thunderstorms, heavy rain/ice, not very windy and it is only in the low 30's. Most of my family is in MA but they have worse winters than we do over here. While I miss my family, i dont want to deal with the bad winter weather. Its a tough decision, for sure!

Shelley, if you are unhappy where you are , then I agree with others. You need to try to start planning a move. This unhappiness will transfer to your dogs as well. Maybe its just all the cold weather thats got you down??

Two Moons

Home is where the heart is.

The home I remember no longer excists, so I dream that excellent dream.

Lifes too short to be unhappy, I say squirrel away some cash and take the journey.

Just understand that nothing stays the same, not even home.

This is a bad time of year for the heart, and for dreams.  This year has been a bad one all round.

Change couldn't be any worst.

Go for it !
