Walking a dog on leash has nothing to do with "good" or "bad" neighborhoods. It is the law in many areas, and with good reason. This is for both the safety of you and the dog, as well as the safety of your neighbors. I would never count on verbal Obedience alone to walk my own dogs. Too many risks and too many chances of something stupid happening. Suppose I turn a corner and meet an old lady who is afraid of dogs and my dog bounds up to say "Hi" and she falls and hurts herself? A lot of people are afraid of big dogs, especially when they are not on a leash. Please be courteous to your neighbors and be safe with your dog. Yvette
