I have to agree that your girl is probably getting ready to blow her coat!

I've tried many things but I have to say I'm amazed by the difference in my dogs' coats when I use pure salmon oil - the kind in the bottle with the pump.  A couple weeks after starting it I noticed a huge difference in my dogs' coats.   I have tried salmon oil capsules but they didn't seem to do much and I didn't notice anything with Show Stopper either.

I feed TOTW and my dogs have never looked better!  Of course when they are blowing coat they look awful but the other 10-ish months out of the year they are glowing :)

A balance of polyunsaturated fats would help.

Many foods state the Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio. It should be about 5:1. Flax seed or oil is added, which is a source of ALA. LA should not be a problem, unless you feed a grainless (cornless) food. Many meat based grainless can food have LA added.

I also feed mine fish oil for EPA and DHA, not fish-liver oil routinely , which has too much Vitamin A.

Dogs can convert ALA to EPA and DHA, but not efficiently.

Silicone? Really.... Can't that harm them if they ingest it? I am HAPPY to try it if I know that its safe.

I have never heard the term " blow her coat". What exactly does that mean?  At what age is a good time to give raw egg? My boy is 15 wks.

Natural good  health  and Feeding is the key to a good coat, no matter if it is on a Dog or the skin of a human.

It is the Blood that feeds the Dog hence its coat, if fed and looked after right as someone suggested Parasites inside and out also must be looked at, a Dog plauged with Parasites cannot obtain good health or a good Coat it is being eaten alive so to speak ,and will be under stress all the time

Good quality feed along with a little Salmon Oil and a Vit E  Capsule will bring on natural good health,if the animal is sound, Do not forget the exerscise to go along with the Food

Sam,

What you feed depend's on where you live and what's available to you.

I think most are all basically the same but some are total crap.   You can probably tell the good from the bad.

Even the best food's leave room for improvement and it never hurt's to throw in an egg or two, meat scrap's,or a can of salmon.   Everyone has their favorite thing's, just try to keep it simple and don't go overboard with a lot of crap.

Anything natural has to be better than marvin's miracle cure in a bottle, or super grow pill's, or magic coat oil.

Use good sense and fresh quality food and you'll do fine.

Brent.
